Andor S1E03 Watch Along

Comments

I don't think it's really that the intro itself is too long, I just think that the combination of all the logos and the intro put together is too long and that's why it feels that way. I'm fairly sure if every episode started immediately with the series intro it wouldn't feel too long.

I'm late to this, but I love this show so much. It has such a different tone for Star Wars, and it works so well. This show feels real; it feels lived in. I care more about Ferrix after 3 episodes than I ever have about Tatooine. One thing I think this show does so well is showing just how oppressive the Empire really is. I feel like a lot of the time we see the Empire as the enemy, because as the audience we know they're the bad guy, but this show feels like the first piece of media where you see why average, everyday people hate the Empire so much. It's so refreshing to sort of step away from the Force, and Sith vs Jedi, global scale importance conflict. This is everyday people, everyday problems, and it feels soo great. Also, one thing I love, especially compared to other Star Wars shows recently, this show is so sure of itself. It knows what it is, what it's trying to be, and it commits to that.

Andor's gun reminds me of Crichton's pistol 'Winona' in Farscape crossed with a shotgun. Good gunnage.

I am so in love with this series. Exactly the tone, setting and pacing I love about this universe. Reminds of the feeling novels like "Allegiance" evoked in me. Jedi, Sith, the force and epic confrontations have always been less interesting to me than showing the everyday life under and work against fascism. Top notch. I'm happy you enjoy it as well.

Such a good show. Also, Aunt Petunia sitting back at the sound of reckoning was smooooth.

Hey Jay! Do you cross out the names you say? That’s way you know you don’t double up?

Loving this series so far, the first 3 episodes feel like an introduction to potentially one of the biggest and coolest Star Wars series, I didn't know that I needed. Because for being a show that never needed to happen in the first place, it's actually amazing to see a much more grounded approach to the Star Wars universe. It's really interesting to see the beginning of everything post-Revenge of the Sith. It's very cool to see what feels like a much more adult toned take on Star Wars. The pacing, while it feels slow burn - it's welcomed as we've got like 9 more solid episodes, especially going off of a few scenes from the trailers. Can't wait to see the rest of your watch alongs!

This is star wars that lets you live in the universe. Doesn't force you into nostalgia. Lets even the smallest characters have weight (screw you Timm). And doesn't rush the narrative just to get to the "cool" stuff.

I love the callback to Rogue One with Cassian giving the game away by comming his droid companion and just not. shutting. up. Also, the Guardian's review had probably the best description of Try Hard Trent, saying he's "the sort of seething inadequate a fascist movement needs plenty of if it’s not to become understaffed". (Try Hard Trent, by the way, is now his official name, I will hear nothing else.)

Llama Face

Omg this show is amazing.

this show is amazing! I am amazed we get more of an idea of WHY a rebellion is formed. Not purely because of the good vs evil aspect (though that is true for the jedi) but we have an actual perspective from the common person and how they see everything going on

Luna Ulloa

Yay! I couldnt wait for the full watch along uplooad. Im loving this show and its just as good on second or third watch. How are we still getting more episodes when it already feels like we watched a movie?? Love it

Jenna Antonelli

I love this show! I didn’t think I would but the last 5 minutes were visually breathtaking.Enjoyed the watch along except for the false starts. 😂😂😂😂😂 You really don’t edit anything out.

Kendot

I love this show ... it's Star Wars at street level ... the everyday people ... the effect of the Republic/Empire on the populations of the worlds they destroy.

Choux D Bruxelles

Great watch along, thank you both for the genuine excitement and joy
