JUNE ILLUMINATI MOVIE WATCH-A-LONG THEME!
Added 2022-05-19 16:39:41 +0000 UTC
🍑🍑Hey Peaches! 🍑🍑
Since the end of the month is going to get nutty here at pReview’d HQ, we wanted to get ahead of the game and get the ball rolling on next months Watch-A-Long.
For June, we are looking for suggestions of DISASTER MOVIES. The cheesier the better.
We’ll pick our favorites for the poll and get it taped and ready next week.
(This is Jay’s favorite genre of movies…and he is VERY excited to see what y’all come up with…)
Deep Impact was good and cheesy...loved 2012...armageddon nice n cheesy

Dante’s Peak is one my favourites, I don’t know if it’s cheesy or not but …

I agree ... The Impossible ...

The Impossible
It's not cheesy by any means but it'll definitely pull at your heart strings. Stars Ewan McGregor, Naomi Watts, and a VERY young Tom Holland.

2012 was pretty fun -- John Cusack has super powers, and nothing bad can happen to him!

I love disaster movies and I will watch any that you choose to put on the poll that wins but anyone who doesn't vote for The Core doesn't understand the awesomeness of the movie and how it is the best of the worst of all disaster movies, while also having the amazing presence of Stanley Tucci on screen.

Stanley Tucci is the best!

So many good suggestions, but some of them are actually *good* movies! If *cheese* is the primary factor, then I can think of two:
San Andreas
and
Moonfall - I'll let Rotten Tomatoes justify this one!
"Critics Consensus: Whether Moonfall is so bad it's good or simply bad will depend on your tolerance for B-movie cheese -- but either way, this is an Emmerich disaster thriller through and through."

Wow not a single vote for "Don't Look Up" (Until now)
Twister is a classic, plenty of cheese but thoroughly enjoyable (and once a major attraction at Universal!)
Daylight would be wonderfully awful, but it's not free.
Volcano is PEAK cheese :D
Looking forward to whatever we get.

The Core is one of my favorites. It has a cheesiness to it but Aaron Eckhart really helps drive that movie.
Besides that maybe 2012 or The Day After Tomorrow.

The Core, San Andreas, or Day After Tomorrow

Seeking a Friend for the End of the World. (2012)
The Core (2003)
Wall-E (2008)
Knowing (2009)
Legion (2010)
9 (2009)
The Mist (2007)
The day after tomorrow (2004)
Technically, Thor: Ragnarok is about the end of Asgard (a world) and Avengers: Infinity War and End Game are about a threat that wipes half living thing…

Twister
Into The Storm
San Andreas

Geostorm of course but Ice Twisters was always a particularly delightfully low quality one too. Also Volcano purely for That Scene.
And Jay's favorite movie genre is the best movie genre.

I was always a fan of Dante's Peak. Twister is also hilarious nonsense though. Women fighting over Bill Paxton and evil meteorologists in black suvs! Uh does Skarknado count or is that more of a parody of disaster films?

I figured out the trick to get your movie on the poll it has to be on Netflix, Hulu or Disney + if it’s not there it’s not worth suggesting so Godzilla and Armageddon one is on Netflix and the other on Prime.
