Stephen Oldfather

Maybe Hancock

Robingrlwonder

Robingrlwonder

Same thing I was going to reply, seems like someone missed the part with the aliens and the spaceship.

July (aka Merc-chan)

I take it you’ve never seen the Rocky Horror Picture Show, if you don’t think it’s sci-fi.

ScarlettMi

Why judge peoples' picks? If they don't fit the criteria, they won't be in the Poll. Also, off Wikipedia: Science fiction (or sci-fi) is a film genre that uses speculative, fictional science-based depictions of phenomena that are not fully accepted by mainstream science, such as extraterrestrial lifeforms, spacecraft, robots, cyborgs, interstellar travel or other technologies.

Jazz41173

Zoom: Academy for Superheroes. I'd say Sci-Fi/Action

The4thSandersonSister

Please Please Please do Escape from New York! It is both a B movie and Sci-Fi. Besides we could all use some Snake Plissken right now!!!!

Keith Wing

Battlefield Earth Starship Troopers

Randy Bain

Well people also don't seem to know the difference between a popular film and a B-movie.

Bethlee Swanson

Oooh Barbarella's a good pick!

Bethlee Swanson

The Last Starfighter Enemy Mine Spaced Invaders Tremors Last Action Hero The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension Little Shop of Horrors The Fifth Element

Lenwe

Fifth Element is one of my top fun sci-fi movies! Fantasy-ish is Big Trouble in Little China. The Adventures of Buckaroo Bonzai Across the 8th Dimension.

Gail Ferguson

I get the feeling some people don't understand the difference between sci-fi and fantasy.

quirkygeekgirl

I wouldn't call those B movies

quirkygeekgirl

Heavy Metal, or its spiritual succesor, Death Love and Robots.

Ice Pirates Tron Galaxy Quest!

Crypton

Fun sci-fi B-movies that provide laughs (intentional or not): -Amazon Women on the Moon -Battlefield Earth -Flash Gordon -Ice Pirates -Zardoz -Slither (Nathon Fillion and James Gunn!) -Saturn 3 (Kirk Douglas and Farrah Fawcett are a happy couple on a space station, but evil nutter Harvey Keitel and his robot also want Farrah...yeesh) -Dreamscape (Dennis Quaid, Kate Capshaw, Max Von Sydow, and Christopher Plummer, all in a terrible early version of The Cell)

Bethlee Swanson

How do I get eyes like that......

TakumiUK

In no particular order Starship Troopers (satire) Last Starfighter (coming of age) Critters (scifi horror - ish) Tron (nuff said) Spaceballs (comedy) Flash Gordon (Queen) Fifth Element (lelu go boom) Death Race 2000(more dystopia than Scifi I guess) Star Trek Nemesis (now I'm being mean)

From 1988, Killer Klowns from Outer Space. And to fulfill Jay's (and my) love of musicals, Little Shop of Horrors.

Jazz41173

Running Man and Wall-E are some solid feel gooders!

RedMarten

Chronicles of Riddick. Great lore and costumes ruined by bad writing and hammy writing. Dame Judi Dench is in this!

B034n76

The Last Starfighter. Cube. Buffy the Vampire Slayer, the movie with Kristy Swanson and the late Luke Perry. A movie with a lesson everyone should learn, Enemy Mine with Dennis Quaid and Louis Gossett Jr. And while it has transcended into a classic especially for Halloween, The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

Jazz41173

5th element cause Gary Oldmen that’s why

Seanjax30

5th element

Seanjax30

May have to change my vote to Weird Science. Gary and Wyatt could be young Jay and Adam. 🤣

Kevin Steele

Definitely one of my favorite movies of all time, Mars Attacks! A bunch of A-list stars in a solid B movie. Galaxy Quest and Starship Troopers are also great choices.

Jim Scheffer

The Fifth Element! Others for me - Flash Gordon, The Last Starfighter, Krull

Kevin Steele

Come onnnn, the Running Man was MADE for this. All those golden Schwarzenegger one liners!

Jason Marbach

From 1984 starring the late Robert Urich, The Ice Pirates.

Jazz41173

Morons from Outer Space. It doesn’t getting any better or worse than that.

Darrek Storkson

Zardoz, can't frigging believe it took me this long to think of it

Jedisilk

I feel like a lot of people got hyped for B-grade and totally overlooked the sci-fi part.

Zoe (Guinea Porg)

I have one word for you. KRULL!! That is all I have to say about that.

Anna Stickabutter

I have three jewels that fit the bill perfectly!: Miami Connection: which combines taekwondo, bitching new wave music and ninjas!! Second is a John Stamos/Gene Simmons classic: Never too young to die. And finally: Gymkata: a deadly game in parmenistan, US Star Wars Defense and karate mixed with gymnastics, you can’t go wrong

Gustavo Mendoza Gamez

Galaxy Quest!

Jennifer Montgomery

I don't think Predestination will have the laughs you are looking for, but it absolutely should be saved for "The Biggest WTF" category. Although, your patrons will get a great laugh watching it with you. So, I will agree with Celestialis. To add a couple more: Wing Commander and Planet Terror

Henry Moormann

1988’s They Live with Rowdy Roddy Piper

Miki Ah Heong

Tucker & Dale VS Evil. I know it doesn’t sound light hearted and fun but it co-stars Alan Tudyk so that should tell you enough.
