The Book of Boba Fett S1E07 Watch Along

Hey Peaches! We've reached the end of another adventure. And what an ending it is. Do you like seeing Jay happy? Do you like hearing Jay laugh? I certainly hope you answered yes to both those questions, cause that's pretty much what happens during the whole video. Oh, and I almost full on ugly cry some dad tears. Hang on tight, cause Mos Espa about to get Shreked!

The Book of Boba Fett S1E07 Watch Along

I have watched this so many times.. mainly because of the pure joy in Jay's face when Baby shows up :)

I love that Jay brings up the point of Boba saying 'we all do' in response to him getting old(or softer as Cade put it.) I've seen so many reactors complain "Boba admitting he's soft is dumb, etc" and I think that is soooo ridiculous to think that Boba(or anyone for that matter) be this indestructible, hardass who's always a badass who doesn't lose or admit his/her fault. It's the same mind set with people who complained about Luke "hiding out" in the sequels or "not taking on the entire first order" as if he's God. idk, just glad that jay pointed this out.

Are they really constrained by canon? Grogu’s very existence isn’t “canon.” “When gone am I, the last of the Jedi you shall be,” said Yoda to Luke. Somehow Yoda missed that Grogu, Ahsoka and presumably Ezra were all still living when he uttered those words? Maybe. Maybe not. Grogu already survived one Jedi massacre. Who’s to say he couldn’t have survived Ben Solo’s purge? My point is that “canon” is pretty flexible in their hands. But if we are being completely honest, Grogu’s return to Mando in TBOBF was probably done to avoid having to tackle it in the beginning of Mando Season 3. Easier to have them back together from the start. In any event, I am not complaining about the choice they made to have him return, but just observing that it seems more convenient than absolutely necessary. And I am looking forward to more Grogu merch lol. Totally agree about Amy Sedaris. How cool would it be if a Peli show focused on a different oddball visitor to her garage each week? I’d watch that in a heartbeat!

In fairness, they are REALLY constrained by canon. It would be INCREDIBLY difficult to explain Grogu had he chosen the Jedi path (Short of having him slaughtered by Ben Solo, which, let's be honest - is a SHIT outcome). Given the lifespan of Grogu's race and the path he's chosen - there's a potential place for Grogu in the post third-rilogy world. I wholly concur that one season of this show is enough - short of going with some episodic show ala Star Trek - there's not a lot more here. Better to perhaps have cameos in future shows for these characters (PLEASE more Amy Sedaris! :D)

I wish anything made me as happy as Jay seeing a rancor or my 3 yr old realizing French toast sticks are 4 breakfast…..both are just pure joy unleashed

Thanks, guys, for another great reaction. I’ve been very hesitant to criticize Filoni and Favreau. I mean, come on, I am 52 and I am watching new Star Wars stories on television from home. For many of my generation, Star Wars “died” about 1985. And it was painful living in a world without any new Star Wars on the horizon. So I am grateful for every single second of these shows. But… I feel like Grogu’s unceremonious return to Din in this episode just undid everything the last episode of Mandalorian Season 2 accomplished. Din’s handing Grogu over to Luke Skywalker, which was highly emotional, seems less special now. Maybe it’s just me. In any event, I liked a lot about this episode but agree with Jay. I’d be okay if this were the only season. George Lucas said in an interview when he was contemplating Star Wars tv shows, that he wanted to explore “what was down this street” if we turned off the familiar path. I think Tatooine Avenue is fully explored.

Kendot

Yeah, TBOBF might not have been the most carefully crafted or in-depth character show, but it was still damn awesome. And after watching it a second time, I did notice Cad's chest panel thingy blinking and beeping like a heartbeat so I wouldn't count him out yet. Mods aren't there just to save the good guys.
