Behind the Scenes 10 (Dec '21)

This month is full of ghost stories, international trips, Star Wars (of course), and my beard (such as it is). It's been a roller coaster of month for us, thanks for being here and supporting us. Next month is going to be just as crazy!

I know from personal experience... streaming on Twitch to zero people... yeah, it kinda sucks. Every once in a while you see that number turn to "1", and you get your hopes up for a minute, and then it goes back down to zero a couple minutes later... talk about some CRIPPLING self doubt.

Running your own business is so much work and stress because *you* are the business and you pour your heart and soul into it and it’s hard to delineate between “work” and “time-off” hours. But like, that can leave you super drained. It always makes me think of Dresden. In the early books, he would tap into his magic and pour himself out until he nearly had nothing left to give, and eventually, with the help of his skull buddy, had to learn how to restore himself. Same with you guys. You are YouTube wizards and this is your magic. You gotta make time to restore your hearts to keep doing what you love.

But this one feels vital in a way I can’t really articulate. Random thoughts: - I would personally describe the flavor of a Jäger bomb as “liquid SweeTarts”. - Yes, both of you: *please* take time off. I’m dealing with burnout right now, and there’s nothing worse than being burnt-out on the thing you love to do. - I had no idea Jay was in the top 1% on Twitch; that’s phenomenal! You go, dude! (I haven’t been able to watch precisely because I have a weekday job, so a Saturday stream does sound like a good opportunity for me to jump on.) Thank you once again for all that you do. You guys are the best!
