Arcane S1E06 Watch Along

Hey Peaches! Things come to a head! Victor starts making moves to save his life, and we discover some of his history with a creepy dude in a cave..... Jayce ousts his mentor in an effort to save the future. And Vi and Powder.....sorry, Jinx, finally meet after many years apart. It...it doesn't go well, and not for lack of trying on Vi's part. What a conclusion to act 2. Can't wait for this weekend to see how it all ends up.

And once again, we'd like to thank all of you Peaches new and old for your continued support over the past week, and since we started this Patreon about 8 months ago. You've really changed our lives. Thank you :)

I pause my copy at the moment the disk goes into the horizontal position and unpause it when yours does. Perfect sync every time!

Fun

Erik

Poor sisters... they have been on a collision course of chaos since episode!

CBDCDiva

Bet regrets are coming about seeing what Jinx can do with the blue orb lol

That Darkfriend

"you guys need to be best friends, now" such a sapho and her friend moment

Ryzsard

So, if you watch Arcane with subtitles on, you learn that the girl watching Victor launch the toy boat is Sky... his assistant at Hextech. Don't want to spoil anything for anyone, but as you guys have finished the series by this point... u know... 💔

Oldish_Goalie

My favourite episode! The sequence from Vi punching the water tower down and Jinx lighting her flare to them being reunited is top tier imo. Joined patreon just to have my second watch through of Arcane with y’all - love it!

Lydia Smith

Heimerdinger, first, sucks at explaining himself. Second, given his UTTER lack of awareness or plan on dealing with the undercity... I'm kind of with Jayce.

William Timmins

Adam doing the Baron Zemo dance to Imagine Dragons. My life is complete.

Kristen

The time code is still several seconds off from my Netflix one, but the audio and countdown helped massively. I live for these reactions. All of them really.

Nick Delp

I said the same thing, bird woman needs to chill lol 😆

Joey (Hustlemando)

We were defo going to stream playing it after the show was done. Just to see what it’s like

Jelly Bean and Back Lash doing Peaches proud 👍

Another group keeps mentioning they are now watching squid games and join their pateron to watch first... like yall... squid games was last month. At this point i likely wont even watch when they post on yt.

Jonathan Frederick

Im glad ya get videos up do quickly when you know people are intersted. Us viewers are a fickle bunch. I see some really good streamers who love this show still on ep2 or 3 and its like "okay i understand you want to watch something else but like... if youre doing all this as a job then maybe watch what is relevant.

Jonathan Frederick

Please at least try out league I will watch all gameplay you guys do! its not a game for long term. But the Esports is. Worlds championship just finished and it was really good!

Taylor Olsoy

My 3 yr old and my 7 yr old hear the previewd jingle and start singing it. Life is good

Seanjax30

then, I'll retract my previous statement

Thierry Fournier

Victor's "I understand know" is because before he wanted to help save Rio but thought Singed's methods (hooking him up to the pumps) were too extreme. Victor now gets that sometimes to make progress you need to be willing to cross a few lines.

Josh Hutt

This show proves the old adage", If you want it done right, do it yourself, correct. Riot Games funded this and guided the direction for this show.

Dave Adamosky

Velkoz incoming now that Heimerdinger's been rid off.

Miko Wu

I'm also of the mind that the leader of the Firelights is Ekko, and one thing I noticed while watching your guys reaction is that the leaders mask looks ALOT like the mask that the camera is looking out of in the first episode in Benzo's shop, the one that Ekko uses.

Brian Small

I think Jayce really believed that what he's doing is the right thing, because he sees the opportunity in progress - the opportunity to change lives and save lives. It's just very unfortunate that Mel is playing him and planned for Heimer to be removed all along. She just needed the council to buy into the idea of fast progress that was so opposed to Heimer's ideals, thus she needed Jayce on the council. I don't think Jayce can now escape her grip anymore.

Thoronris

Just an FYI, the weird old guy that Viktor is meeting with in the cave, is the same scientist from the first act that was creating the Shimmer for Silco. His name is Singed in the game (saw a subtitle say his name). But I believe he is creating the shimmer with that animal in the tube and Viktor is gonna do something with it.

Bailey Malanczuk

Beth needs some serious chill

Matt Daye

This was a great episode! Lots of ups and downs. Yes, act I was better standing on its own, but that is because it was more a story by itself. The time jump made a pretty clear line. This act is more of a preparation for act III, which will be the payoff. Cait is my more and more becoming my favourite. I am more and more sure that Mel is gonna betray Jayce. Her painting is like a giant billboard sign at this point. She was painting ships leaving the Immortal Bastion, which is the fortress heart of Noxus. And from what she said I am guessing her family are noxian nobility. So either she is exiled and now trying to “buy” her way back or this was a lie and she is a noxian agent/spy. Which makes sense. Noxus definitely wants hextech for developing weapons of terror and mass destruction. Mel so far has done everything to open up Piltover to that. “Helping” Jayce while pushing him in that direction, opening him towards politics etc. The ravens in this episode are also a big clue. The Noxian leader Swain uses ravens as spies (sort of like super evil Tree-Eyed Raven from GoT). I am guessing he has been monitoring the situation in Piltover. Removing Heimer was also a big step in that plan. Everybody else on the council are greedy politicians, Heimer was the only one who would object and try to stop Noxus. Jayce while he has morals now he is desperate to save Viktor and is open to manipulation. Jayce fucked up pretty badly with that move. Yes, he is trying to save his friend, but he is rushing blindly out of desperation. While Viktor dying would be a tragedy, Heimer wants to make sure Piltover does not end up a pile of rubble. I am not excusing him about not doing anything about the shimmer. But civil unrest and slow decline are one thing, creating something that can wipe a civilization is quite another. Something that Heimer has seen happen before. There has been half a dozen cataclysmic events that viped civilizations because one (or more) person/s got corrupted by power (magic). And that core looks very sus. That scientist that met young Viktor is Singed, the same guy that works for Silco and developed the shimmer and got burnt in that explosion in act I episode III. Viktor is getting very desperate and desperate people make very bad decisions.

Leo

The problem is that if Jayce is right and he fails to help Viktor, then Viktor will die. But, he will be the only immediate casualty. While if Heimer is right and Vik and Jayce fuck up, they could destroy the entire city in seconds. That reactor had very big similarities with the void. Void is naturally attracted to high concentracions of magic. If a void portal opens in Piltover, well... imagine an army of cthulhu/xenomorph hybrid looking monsters, some of who are tall as buildings.

Leo

I agree. If he really cared about the whole of Piltover even the undercity, Heimerdinger shouldn't have reacted as he did when Victor and Jayce showed him that they discovered a way to make medical advancements. He should've just suggested that he would be willing to help in supervising and developing of it...not just give up altogether.

Andrew Inman

Cait was also taken

Leo

Fun fact about wearing a mask with a long beak/nose, you actually can't see what's directly under you. Turning your head down (or in this case, to the side) lets you get a better view of a small object on the ground. But the gang member was probably just a little too into the role for sure.

Micah Zimmer

I agree. How Jayce could have been part of that little concert/behind the scenes wheel greasing but somehow blamed Heimerdinger for not having the solutions…umm…yeah I’m not there.

Amanda

2 out of 2 bad ass chicks that may not become best friends, but are definitely (hopefully?) going to make out. I ship them hard.

Amanda

True, but Heimerdinger has literally been around since Piltover's founding. What have we really seen him do, other than caution people to take things slower and safer? Yes, the other council members are corrupt and enriching themselves (with the possible exception of Jayce), but Heimerdinger hasn't been shown to really do anything active. I feel like that was the core of Jayce's argument to forcibly retire his mentor. And he's not wrong, just like Heimerdinger isn't wrong that Viktor's experiments are very dangerous. Neither side is really thinking clearly and logically: Jayce wants to help save his friend's life, while Heimerdinger is clearly traumatized by his past experiences with magic. It's part of what makes this series so good: I can see where both sides are coming from, understand the points they are making, and realize why they're acting the way that they do.

s22132

Btw, the guy that Viktor meets in the cave is the same guy who developed Shimmer and presented it to Silco in episode 1. He looks burned and has that mask on in the last scene because he got burned by Powders hexplosion

Sven Denker

This may interest you Jay: https://www.riotgames.com/en/mmo-recruiting The map of Runeterra: https://map.leagueoflegends.com/en_US Also, they just released 4 games in Steam: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QsGfJT143WE

Nin

And thats how the only non-corrupt member of the council gets kicked, being used as a scapegoat for all of Piltovers problems. Remember that Heimerdinger has as much voting power as any of them but somehow hes responsible for all the issues while they enrich themselves?

Sven Denker

Rio is the source of Shimmer. The mutation must survive. The doc is the same one that works for Silco, if that wasn't clear.

Matthew Bertram

It is the same dude, now just a bit scarred from the explosion at the end of episode 3.

Thoronris

The music choice and framing for that was perfect

Thoronris

I'm fairly certain that Victor's friend was Silco's scientist buddy that created Shimmer. He started out experimenting on poor Rio, created Shimmer, got half his face blown off when Powder decided to try to help and now he's wearing that scarf to cover his scars.

Justin Burlin

Riot said that the new upcoming Zaun champion will not be seen in Arcane because they have no way of putting him/her into the story to make it plausible. People think it that it will be Corina. So I do think the surfer is Ekko before his big discovery.

Leo

Vi and Jinx reuniting... Vi saying what she needed to get through to Jinx that she is still her sister and thats all Vi cares about... then the Firelights taking the HexTech Gemstone and Vi... after Jinx just got her sister back... now we're going to get Jinx and Cait looking for Vi and Jinx will hold Cait's life to it. Imagine Cait sniping fools while Jinx goes in hard with explosives and a minigun. Then they meet up with Vi and she just mops up the bad guys Jinx and Cait disarm.

Jonathan Frederick

That's what I was trying to figure out if that's the same dude Silco had working in his lair in the first couple episodes, but couldn't be sure.

Slick

I am assuming due to coloration and it being the same scientist, that the mutation is the source of Shimmer and thats why he's forcing the creature to stay alive.

Timothy Jacob

The score when jinx lights up the flare is INSANE BONKERS.

Jonathan Frederick

Follow up after watching the reaction with yall and you mentioned Ekko at the end and how Jay looked up his kit. Well MORE good news. Another of the Games shown today is gonna be about Ekko so you're in luck XD

RonnDeezy

4 days... Ekko is already a playable character. And the surfer dude is suposed to be a new character, not just a skin for Ekko. Unless Riot pulled a fast one to confused the audience and players.

Thierry Fournier

Now that were on this episode... notice how when Jinx is freaking the fuck out she has Milo fused to her backside the same way Vi and Powder are fused together in the intro.

Jonathan Frederick

Im here for the long hall... jay and adam could add nothing and Ill still be subbed at 7 bucks a month... but dont tell them that.

Jonathan Frederick

Can’t wait to get home and watch along . Thanks guys !

Andrew Helmer

wow just noticed I typed a whole ass paragraph. Sorry XD

RonnDeezy

been waiting for this! actually big day Riot announced some more games today (no mmo news yet prob be a while) but one of the games is a narrative story turn based game kinda similar to FF. its called the Ruined king and they actually surprise released it today! along with hextech Mayhem which has Donger ( Heimerdinger's nickname among the community) in it. Its not very lore heavy but apparently Ruined King IS lore heavy and tackles a way different area of Runeterra than Piltover and Zaun. It takes place in Bilgewater which is a Pirate town east of Piltover in the ocean. Very different vibe and aesthetic in that area than Arcane but if yall were interested in more Riot stuff Ruined King looks like it might be really good.

RonnDeezy

Much better Adam. The countdown helps. Muchos Gracias
