Twin brothers Ethan and Evan were young students studying abroad in Shanghai. Their Chinese teacher Ms. Li took a liking to them and often invited them over for dinner "to practice Chinese."
Young, timid, and shy, Ethan and Evan would do whatever their teacher told them - always eager to please and avoid confrontation.
