Identity, Psycho, Paranormal Activity were parodied. This episode was from 2011, Split movie was from 2016, so this episode wasn't influenced by it. Lu Kim has been a character forever, with the kids loving to prank call so they can hear "shitty" wok, "shitty" beef, "shitty" chicken, "shitty" food, etc. In a behind the scenes Parker admits they do feed into stereotypes for laughs with the characters, but the story is about more than that, and some social commentary is achieved by making Kim a white person believing to be and acting like a stereotype of a Chinese person. One of the greatest retcons. South Park relies on all the stereotypes, especially with Kyle being Jewish, like Matt Stone. In an episode there is a scene with Cartman and Kyle having cake and Cartman telling Kyle to go ahead and eat it too. So in the show they can go ahead and mock everyone and everything, but they try to have some sort of point while taking full advantage of stereotypes as jokes. Another retcon of note in the show, is in regards to Token/Tolkien. Watch the episode "The Big Fix" a thematic companion to "'With Apologies to Jesse Jackson."
