Uryu's/Ishida's mom (Katagiri) isn't a pure Quincy, her blood is mixed with that of regular humans, kind of like muggles. Masaki and Ishida's dad come from a pure line of Quincies, so all of their ancestors descend from Yhwach. That's why they're much more powerful as Quincies than Katagiri could ever be. So she's impure in an ethnic sense, kind of like how some Native tribes measure belonging by blood quantums and such. Also Yhwach's name is one of the way's to write Biblical G-d's name, if you google it (don't google Yhwach's though too many spoilers). He is kind of a god-like figure to Quincies of sorts. Just to let you know when relevant themes in third cour kick in. Anyway, other commenters might correct me if I'm wrong, but that's what I vaguely remember from manga.
