Anthony has come such a long way about these flashbacks! Remember the 1st flashback during the Soul Society arc with Kira, Renji, and Hinamori as students and Anthony didn't like that flashback at the time, but now we can look back and see, that was another instance of Aizen experimenting with Hollows that could conceal their reatsu and then he opportunistically found young students that he could manipulate in the future. Overall Bleach was always pretty good about having relevant flashbacks that enrich the story.
