Because the whole time the author is getting you to question Hoenheims character, but now we have figured out that he's actually just as much a victim, being forced to live with agonized souls within him. The show just gets better from this point on, better buckle in lol

2021-06-24 00:58:03 +0000 UTCSomething cool I noticed on rewatch. Ed and Al have golden hair and golden eyes which is unlike any other character (aside from their father Hoenheim). All other blonde characters have either brown, blue or green eyes. None have golden eyes. Even their hair colour is a different shade of blonde than the rest of them. This is because they're not fully Amestrian. They're actually part Xerxian so they have these unique traits. I found that pretty neat.

2021-06-23 19:33:58 +0000 UTCsomething i noticed, and its not a spoiler because its never mentioned but instead is an observation is that a homunculus is a failed version of the truth. at least the dwarf in the flask was, since he’s made of that matter similar to a truth, but blackened (the truth is white and the dwarf was black) they both know truth and knowledge. also earlier in the show they showed how gluttony was a failed portal.
