Folder Browser - v1.2 + Video Tutorial (Updated 9:15 UTC 25 August 2024)

Hello dear Fans, I'm not sure if anyone used the flash folder browser except me. But I was using it alot. It helped me finding and reminding me of artists and circles in my big stash and keeping them sorted by tags and ratings. Sadly the old flash folder browser doesn't work anymore in windows as windows compability is dropping with newer windows versions. So I've rewritten the borwser in html and js width some nodejs for the database creation. HTML is extremely limited compared to the old flash browser so it has less features but also some adventages: Web-browsers can't open a location in windows explorer. So this feature is dropped. But therefor adding tags is now easier than ever. Also changing the style and layout is very easy as everything is editable now. The html, css and js. Not sure if this is useful to anyone here except me, but here you go. The new folder browser. Make sure to test the tutorial first before using it on your real collections. You use this on your own risk. For the first time users I highly recommend the: folder_browser__examples__no_sourcefiles.zip If you only want the browser itself: folder_browser__basic.zip You don't need this unless you are a nodejs developer. If you want to change or check out the image folder scanner: folder_browser__sourcefiles.zip And if you used the flash folder browser like I did and still got the filter.txt file. This is a tutorial how to convert the filter.txt into the format for the new image browser. Have fun, AGlassOfMilk EDIT (15:55 UTC): found a bug - when the _data js gets too big it can't be stored in browser storage and causes an error which causes the whole _data js file creation process to abort. This is now fixed and the zip files are updated here. While the _data can't be stored in the browser memory in that case, the _data js file will still be generated for download. EDIT (18:00 UTC): previously when artists had a tag that doesn't exist in the settings there was an error. Now no error appears and the tag is added to the artist. When hovering over the tag on the artist it will show as "unknown". EDIT: (9:15 UTC 25 August 2024): Added options in the settings txt to copy the folder path to the clipboard when clicking an artist and a product in product mode. Also added an option to supress the link opening in the browser, so you only get the clipboard copy. If you got the previous version already in use, all you need to replace is the: _browser.js _settings.js, new are the 5 new options: path_to_clipboard, path_slash_type, path_prepend, path_append, do_not_open_folder No rebuilding needed.
