ANNOUNCEMENT
Added 2025-01-13 21:01:21 +0000 UTCNo Man’s Hive will be officially dropped, and a new story featuring Taylor in Gotham will take its place: The Brave And The Bug. New chapters will only be available for selected tiers—but after the next day or so, the chapters will be available to all members. I'm sorry for those who wanted to see how Taylor deals with Ra’s al Ghul with Damian.
The “S” Stands For Hope will be on indefinite hiatus, and Why Am I A Slime? will be completed soon.
The prologue of another story will be posted soon. It will be another Worm crossover fanfiction, but it will feature our not-so-favourite autistic blonde and my favourite RWBY character. Virtue cookie for anyone who guesses the character right.

Yeah, I made the same mistake😭 Meant to write worse instead of better

2025-01-13 21:44:53 +0000 UTCOh, sorry, seems to be some confusion about what I said. I meant Earth Bet was worse than the Earth Gotham is on.

2025-01-13 21:43:15 +0000 UTCI use the interludes to give alternate views on situations or the MC and also develop other characters. And yeah, Taylor will come to realize that Earth Bet is better than Gotham, but that doesn't mean Gotham is without its dangers—some that will catch her off guard

2025-01-13 21:35:35 +0000 UTCI think the interludes make perfect places to put details like that. If every numbered chapter progresses the capital "P" plot then interludes can be used to support character development. Worm is very much a story about personal and even societal Trauma, so if Taylor can recognize that she's not the person she was in more than just her ability to control insects (including crabs...I guess). You as the author can have her struggle with trying to reconcile those differences as the story progresses. Gotham is not a great place to fix your mental state, the joker being a prime example of someone completely losing it but it's probably better than Earth Bet simply because hope exists in Gotham, but it's not something you find in a world with monsters looming on the horizon waiting to drop just one more city into the ocean.

2025-01-13 21:29:59 +0000 UTCYeah, I guess I skipped a lot of finer details in order to get on with the plot quickly
OnAHiatus
2025-01-13 21:22:02 +0000 UTCWell, at the end of the arc—which was only three/four chapters away—Ra’s is defeated but at a heavy cost. Not only does Taylor lose an arm, but Damian is seriously injured, and Gotham is in ruins. Still, Taylor has regained full control over her insects, Gotham eventually begins to rebuild—with Taylor’s community at the forefront of it—Batman begrudgingly acknowledges Taylor’s place in the city’s ecosystem—helping build a suit and an arm for her—and Damian fully steps out of his father’s shadow, becoming a superhero duo with Taylor. The next arc wasn't planned yet

2025-01-13 21:20:28 +0000 UTCSure, she fights Ras, loses, and he lectures her about "the ways of the world according to an immortal assassin king" only for Batman to say "That's not how things work" and some more fighting. But who can really say except the author.

2025-01-13 21:20:13 +0000 UTCIt's not dropped, it's just on hold. I really do want to see Superman struggle with a threat like scion, something probably on the level of darkseid, except worse, and see how he does.

2025-01-13 21:14:44 +0000 UTCI think the characterization was fine. You made it clear she suffered brain damage from the get-go. If she partially reverted to her pre-GM characterization that makes sense. I thought you could have brought up her struggle with other things besides her powers, like maybe she knows she's not the same as she was, but does she need to be that Taylor in a world without Scion? In real life, people who suffer brain injuries frequently have personality shifts supposing that was the part of the brain injured as opposed to something nuero-musclar in nature. There is even a famous case of a railroad worker who went from nice guy to a totally different person with no impulse control after he got a metal pole driven through his skull and survived.

2025-01-13 21:14:13 +0000 UTCI'm not dropping it. Just taking a break as I figure things out

2025-01-13 21:10:44 +0000 UTCAs I said on SB, hating can be beneficial. I'm an amateur writer, so this is also an opportunity for me to improve my skills
OnAHiatus
2025-01-13 21:09:00 +0000 UTCWell, it was mainly about the direction I was taking the story in, plus how Taylor was portrayed—precisely her post-GM characterisation, and how No Man’s Hive Taylor was more reminiscent of early-canon Taylor than post-G
OnAHiatus
2025-01-13 21:08:14 +0000 UTCWell that just sucks. Really wanted to see the continuation of the story as Taylor overcomes one threat and is then introduced to the wider world of DC. Any chance you can tell us how the story was supposed to go?

2025-01-13 21:06:52 +0000 UTCWhy dropping S stands for hope? Is it because you don't like writing it? You alluded to it before
