I'm alive!
Added 2023-07-14 00:48:23 +0000 UTCI appreciate y'alls patience while I formulate what's to come next. It's honestly been difficult to decide on my direction following "Thrill Seeker" and "Lush." I know y'all have watched me jump around all kinds of topics in the last month here on Patreon. It'll come to me! Also, those close to me have been aware of this over the past 2 weeks, but I've again been unwell and having immense difficulty acclimating to my new equipment. Great improvement today however on both fronts!
I'm also quietly trying to focus on the moth and pupa benefits and commission clients. Within this month I expect y'all will start seeing me get jazzed about something again, but I needed a decent recovery period from the last few comics. Thank y'all so, so much for hanging tight, and thank you to new patrons for joining!

Totally get it. This time of year is hard, always watching the Entergy bill, always watching the weather channel. There's political bullshit abound, more and more impediments to civil social living, it's all a ball of stress. Idk what you have going on outside of your work sphere, but is there any way to taper it off, even for a few days? I've got time off scheduled for the first week of August and I'm chomping at the bit. Not even doing anything or going anywhere, just staying home and trying to defrag. Or even for just a few hours, unplug? I've been struggling for about 1.5 years to work on a creative personal project that would get maybe ten or fifteen minutes of attention a week. Just don't have the battery for it. Yesterday I dedicated time to a long, hot shower after moving furniture around and things just...sped up. I made myself disconnect for about an hour and a half and during that time I just got a shot in the arm and ended up writing for three hours afterwards. I know it's different when your medium is literally at the tips of your fingers but it just felt like lightning in a bottle. This is starting to sound like empty platitudes and venturing into "Gee, I'm fixed, thanks," territory and that's not the intention. Idk man, you rock, we're chillin, be good

I just haven't been feeling too swell but that's typical for summer time here. As for Ellen, I've been chatting with her a bit. Interestingly she and I are kind of in the same boat in a few ways. We both found our audience around the same time and the vibe has grown pretty treacherous since then, although she gets 10 times the heat and it's not right. I'm happy to see her stepping back and taking a break. She doesn't deserve all that nonsense. I'm still gonna kick it on reddit but yah, the sentiment of wanting to distance from the community is real.

As for "quick" fillers between epic events, I can't speak for everyone, but the rampaging Elk is always fun. (Although, Reddit has been less fun, of late. Did you see Ellen finally gave up on it? Assholes ruin everything.)
