"The Hunt" Character Sketches 2

Y'all, this tablet has completely changed the game.

After spending all day yesterday troubleshooting some major issues with Photoshop unrelated to the iMac and tablet, things finally started to flow nicely. I was previously only able to draw like this traditionally, and I am thrilled I finally have a device that replicates that format near perfectly. I have some stuff to polish for now, but here's more on those warm-up chatacter sketches. Now with Eli.

"The Hunt" is slated to begin in August, to complete in October, (assuming the Patreon holds strong), has a great gag at the end, and is a bona fide horror comic. Shit is gonna be unreal. In the meantime, still working on my benefit content and commissions.

I haven't decided whether or not to go full force against spez. Things are tense on the interwebs with that. Y'all let me know what you think, but for now I am more invested in Castello lore.

There’s an easy joke at the idea of NOPD putting money and manpower into anything but actual beat patrol and presence. “No, seriously, it’s vampire mafias. We’ve spent thousands of manhours hunting them and following leads. We’ve allocated a special task force to track their movement, try and predict when and where their victims might be attacked, and we’ve even collaborated with specialist contractors from out of state to turn up leads.” “…uh-huh. And where are you at in the investigation?” “We’re reasonably certain they’re somewhere in the city.” *$370,000 well spent. A neglected and leaking fire hydrant erodes a sinkhole and floods a neighborhood.*

I really like the little touches to Eli in the sketch. In many of the previous works he maintains his "kindly father figure" presence even though you're aware of what he is. In this, it's subtle but he looks hard with a hidden danger to him. Well done. As for shit-stirring posts or going after Spez, if you're legitimately asking our opinions: I think you would be wasting your efforts and distracting from working on what you love. You even said it yourself, you're not feeling it. Besides, based on what that douchebag has been saying on his publicity tour, Reddit's gonna Reddit. The protesting on the site will have no effect because Reddit doesn't have a bottom line to impact. Its allegedly never made money and the people running it have no idea how to turn it into a profitable venture (quite possibly you can't - you can't monetize *everything* despite what the greedy believe). So the current management will do whatever they have to to get it to the IPO, flood capital into the site, stick around long enough to get their massive paydays and then abandon ship leaving a new set of suckers holding the bag who will then try to get their money's worth and then effectively complete the enshittening and that is how it will finally die because by then someone will have created the viable alternative to Reddit and the circle will remain unbroken. In the long run there's no upside in it for you so you might as well save yourself some pain and strain on the old brain by working on what you love - the characters you've created. My $0.02 anyway, only because you asked.
