A perplexing, persistent peculiarity.
Added 2022-08-13 20:26:22 +0000 UTCI can't give away anything about Peaches & Cream: Part 1 on my main socials, so I decided to write this here considering y'all have seen the sketch. I hope you don't mind.
A few weeks ago, I made an observation to my partner that up until that point, I had drawn 4 consecutive comics that all took place in a bathroom within the year. I thought, how odd is it that without realizing it, I crafted multiple narratives and events that each played out in a bathroom with zero intention of adhering to a spacial theme such as that. It was a random coincidence, I just brought life to the scripts I thought would perform the best at the time. We laughed about it, and I completed "Quality Time" not too long after, (not a bathroom comic).
Naturally, "Quality Time" exploded because it is silly and relatable, but the style is a bit bizarre. I am not typically a silly and relatable type of writer or comic artist, and that was pointed out as such in some of the response to the comic. I knew it was time to invest serious time and effort in one of my more meaningful, considerably ambitious scripts, beginning with "Peaches & Cream," a 5 part saga chronicaling the story of a mysterious cellist's entrance into the canon of JJ's, and Vivian's internal struggles.
I set to work, refining the plot, scripts, monster designs, and overall theme. Parts 1-3 took about a month to fully formulate. As y'all know, I set to work on Part 1 not too long ago, shortly after rapidly sketching out Part 2, which still has a lot of kinks I need to work out.
Last night, just as I began laying down the lines on page 2 of part 1, I abruptly froze with a harrowing realization.
A majority of "Peaches & Cream" Part 1 takes place in a bathroom, completely by chance. The private setting is key to MCW's scheme to frighten the guest into moving her car obstructing MCW's driveway without detection from the other guests, but another bathroom?
In a bathroom.
How can this be. I deliberately embarked on a mission to elevate the quality and scale of my comics in thanks to my newest, numerous patrons. Why are we in a bathroom again.
What's happening to me. When do you think the public will catch on? Am I bathroom comic lady?
Send help.

Hey, now, never knock bathrooms! They're pretty swell places to think, have quiet time, groom, intimidate people....
