A song being overplayed isn't a factor to judge if the song is good or not. I see so many people using that argument to describe a song as bad, when it's wrong. A better point would be if the song passes the test of time and doesn't sound boring/derivative after time, but not if it's overplayed.

2023-07-28 09:29:07 +0000 UTCpestilence's spheres is a great album and show be respected on the same level as unquestionable presence or focus. most of the hate comes from what it isn't rather than what it is, and being a big change in style doesn't make the record any worse

2023-07-24 03:55:50 +0000 UTCI think Sinead O'Connor's "Nothing Compares 2 U" is the greatest cover song of all time. The Fugees' "Killing Me Softly" is a close second for me. They both eclipse the original by a mile. What is your favorite cover song of all time?

2023-07-18 04:47:53 +0000 UTCGiven your proximity to James Acaster, your appearance on his Perfect Sounds podcast and mentioning in his book about the music of 2016. Could you see yourself interviewing or appearing on podcasts hosted by other comedians in the future? E.g. an Ed Gamble discussion seems reasonably plausible to me.

2023-07-12 15:07:13 +0000 UTCthose episodes do turn out good (esp the first one), but they were also born out of my frustration going through entire threads and not finding a single usable tweet out of the 300 or so that would load. so eh, let's just try keeping things fresh around here. (this is Austen btw; Anthony tends to be less uptight lol)

2023-07-12 03:44:49 +0000 UTCSonic Youth’s album Goo is better than Daydream Nation. I think the guitars and song writing are a lot more flushed out on Goo and it genuinely feels that they had a lot of fun making it. Daydream Nation is too bouncy.

2023-07-12 03:01:39 +0000 UTCMusic media in general is eventually going to have to go through a serious overhaul in regards to what music critics can refer to as “aged,” or “dated.” Kate Bush had a top 5 hit last year with a song that is clearly a product of 80’s, at least PARTLY because music culture has slowly but inexorably started to incorporate elements of 80’s “cheese” and aesthetics into their productions, which makes many 80’s hits seem more current. We must be mindful that the way music culture is shaped over time also affects what is considered to be “dated.”

2023-07-12 01:28:21 +0000 UTCLET'S AGREE's are a breath of fresh air even though it presents the pickle that you have to find correct takes amongst the mad patrons. "Your takes are garbage" is one of the funniest LET'S ARGUE eppy's. I'm all for more abuse for me and my fellow patrons cherry picking the bad rather than the good takes and mercilessly destroying them. Just a suggestion.

2023-07-11 19:48:51 +0000 UTCNo matter how good JPEGMAFIA is, he will never win rap album of the year. His style is not taken seriously by the Recording Academy. I would love to see SCARING THE HOES win it this year, but the fact that his style is seen more as a joke than anything else will prohibit it from getting past maybe a nomination at best.
2023-07-10 20:19:41 +0000 UTCAny chance we can get a Patreon “let’s agree” for one of these months and if not can you at least agree that “send me on my way” by rusted root is a damn great song? Like imagine that being the first song you listen to if you’ve never heard music before.

2023-07-09 21:13:20 +0000 UTCFuture Bass is the EDM genre which I think has had the most squandered potential thus far. In theory, it should be a genre with plenty of good records due to the typically lush and beautiful sound palettes utilized. However, not many producers have taken advantage of them and instead have opted to create senseless club "bangers" Also, during its brief stint in mainstream relevancy, The Chainsmokers were the main purveyors of the genre, so that likely didn't help things

2023-07-08 01:27:22 +0000 UTCYou and LosPollosTV make a cute couple. Not a take, just an observation. You two should go on a date. Maybe a quaint little night out at a small club playing One Dance. Or a late night Drake and Drive playing Liability.
