State of Decay

Good day creatures of the dark.

This time I wanted to use the State of Decay to talk about two things. One is not as important as the other, so let's go into it.

As many of you know, I'm new in all this business with content and Patreon, but my mind isn't all that "new" to business in general and how to run a couple of things, so I try to use my experience to make it as worth for you, as for me. Now, while close to it, I'm by no means perfect. I know, a shocker! But do know I try hard to run things as smoothly as possible and also try to give content that you will enjoy.

So let's talk a bit about that, the content, I know it's impossible to please everyone, oh, if I know.

It's a silly thing to pursue and something almost impossible to do. Nonetheless i try to give as much of a chance to everyone to get what they would like, now, the world in which we live makes it kinda hard to do so. and the world without [CHAOS] is but a boring place. 

So, what does this all mean?

Well im talking about the way i do content, i take suggestions, i take commissions, and in between those i do stuff that i would like to see be done. Now, since the Suggestions and Milestone winners have been taking quite the long hits, i haven't been able to take commissions, which in a way impact the balance of content.

So, what can i do?

Realistically not much since there's so many stuff i can fit on my schedule. But! i can try to work around those limitations.

What is a commission?

What is a suggestion?

Is there a way to make some kind of hybrid? 

WHERE IS MY CHAPTER 3 ROBERT?

Those are the kind of questions I have been trying to answer.

In trying to make sense of these limitations and be able to make different stuff I have reached the following answer:

Imagine a spectrum, At one edge you will find yourself, yes, YOU. the potential commissioner. On the other side sits, yours truly.

The idea often falls on either of the two edges, where the idea resides is the side that gets control of it. Of course my influence will be shown on the commission, after all it is I the one who works it, but the idea is yours.

On this spectrum A suggestion is your idea falling on my side, i get to control it.

Whereas when it's A commission the idea falls on your side, with YOU having more broad control of it.

Toying with the spectrum is hard to find a balance. it has nooks, crannies, edges and if you stare at it long enough you get lost in a maze of inner thoughts which makes you question reality as is. You see, as one work becomes well known, the demand for it gets higher. Hence why most artists just close commissions, it becomes taxing. The demand and control fall on the other side of the table and most artists don't like that.

I will say now, i like commissions, they are fun and it helps explore other ideas, but time aint kind on animations. That's the reality of our world. Hence why I made the Voice of the Dead, at least the ideas start to get wider, interesting ideas which can come to flourish but as everything democratic, it needs order and it IS the majority which chooses it.

Now, there's a possibility, an idea unexplored, something in between the Spectrum, I wanna try to implement this idea, but I will first explain it.

Im calling em "Bounties"

A bounty is an idea that its not bound to a poll, it's just an idea that would reside on a special channel, any supporter would be free to make it.

The premise is simple, you put your idea on the channel, if i like it, i will be DMing you, we will work on a script since these ones will have certain limitations. and after that i will give you a quote, which would be the price for me to make this idea.  Hence the name bounty, These limitations will exist since the bounties can only exist for an animation that takes just enough time for me to keep the schedule rolling. Hence why these are not commissions, these exist in between, and as such, the price is reduced. Now, not every month will i be able to take this, this are just another source of ideas, but these are flaky. Dont think i didnt like em, sometimes it will be time which refuses to cooperate to make em possible. Sometimes i will just like one very much and wanna work on it.

There's a couple of stuff that would need polishing, but that's the idea so far.

Now as for the second thing, by the time you will be reading this, i will be [Most Likely] on my way to the states, i have to do some stuff over there, and i need a couple of days to set up a workstation there. Hopefully it doesn't take long, SO.
