It has been a whole month since my mutation. Although I still have a lot to experiment with it, my body has begun to feel much more natural to me. I even find myself sometimes forgetting what it felt like to be a non-mutant.
My daily life and even my writing career have improved considerably. Partly thanks to my ability to multitask and partly due to my improved mood since, without a doubt, having two brains helps a lot to cope with problems. It feels as if I am less lonely in some way? It is difficult to describe.
After learning about my new situation, my best friends Sophie and Lucy could not stop insisting that I move to where they live, the capital city of mutants, Port Solei. There was a vacant apartment in the same building that according to them "had my name written all over it."
I considered it for weeks. My job does not depend on where I am and moving there would simplify my life in many ways. Here, I do not have the simple comforts I need for my new body. Getting shirts with six sleeves or long sweater collars for my tail is impossible. While in Port Solei, they not only make tailored clothes, but they even give you a discount on bras if you have more than one pair of breasts.
In the end, I packed my things, rented the apartment, and began to move little by little until one night I finally took the plane to Port Solei. The trip was long, I ended up arriving in the early hours of the morning, but it was worth it when I got off the plane. The environment at the airport was very different. There were not as many mutants as I thought there would be. I could only spot a couple among the hundreds of people who came and went. Most surprising of all for me, no one was looking at me in surprise despite being by all accounts a rather extreme mutant.
"Antonella! Over here!" I heard a quite familiar voice from among the crowd and made my way toward the waving hand above everyone’s heads. Upon reaching it, I finally and for the first time in a long time was standing in front of Sophie and Lucy who without hesitation gave me a warm hug.
Next to them was another mutant who was watching us with a smile, a cute double smile. "This is Jessica, our neighbor..." "...she also wanted to meet you," said Sophie and Lucy gesturing towards her. Jessica looked stunning, two heads with blonde hair and bright emerald eyes that took in every detail of my body.
"Oh, the pleasure is mine!" I said with both heads taking one of her hands with two of mine, noticing for the first time the three big breasts of hers, which made mine look small in comparison.
Jessica gestured with her heads and smiled. "Are you kidding?" "I have the honor of meeting the famous Antonella Carmine!" she said clapping her hands together. Sophie and Lucy sighed and relaxed their shoulders "Ohh here we go again…" "I think she has read all your stories more than once…"
"Really? Are you a fan of mine?" I asked. Jessica nodded repeatedly and excitedly. She seemed quite nervous. I put a pair of hands on her shoulders to loosen her tension, "Relax, I'm a normal girl like you..." "...I just like to write a lot" I finished the sentence with my tail which I had wrapped around behind Jessica. She blushed at the sudden contact.
“Normal girl,” said Sophie and Lucy in unison as made air quotes with all four of their hands.
I sighed, “Well… you know what I mean!”
"And from now on she will be your friend too..." Lucy said, giggling and looking to Jessica as I nodded. "...And don't worry," Sophie continued, "Antonella is just as crazy as we are..."
I whirled towards them with my tail, winking "We make a good team!" I said laughing. Jessica relaxed and appeared to feel more comfortable as we left the airport in the direction of our apartments.
Hours later and thanks to the help of the girls, I had everything unpacked and ready in my new apartment. My new life began today, with good friends and in a city that welcomed me as one more mutant. After relaxing, catching our breath, and having some lunch together, Jessica came up with an idea that surprised me.
"What if we celebrate your first day here with a beach day?" she said. Every head in the room fixed on her with surprised expressions. "B-Beach?" "Are you sure?" I questioned with some doubt.
"It's not a bad idea!" Sophie said.
"How is it not a bad idea? In normal settings we are flashy with our bodies... if we put on bikinis, it would be even worse," I said worried.
The three girls all shared a laugh. "Come on Antonella, you'll get used to it..." Jessica said.
"Remember we are in Port Solei, here you are not the center of attention just for being a mutant..." said Lucy.
Jessica raised a finger "Well they’re not that many mutants around, even in this city..." "...so four mutants together can actually still attract some attention."
Sophie and Lucy looked at each other thinking about it for a few seconds. "That’s true, but it wouldn't be bad attention...," said Sophie "Discrimination against mutants is very much frowned upon here," Lucy said, nodding.
"The only problem is that I don't have a bikini, at least not for my new body..." I said, spreading my arms.
"Then we'll just have to go shopping... let's go to the Mall and-" Jessica said, but Lucy immediately interrupted her, shaking her body from side to side with excitement and making Sophie dizzy "I WANT A COW BIKINI!"
"Oh yeah! It's the year of the cow, it's not a bad idea,” I said laughing as Sophie stopped her sister with a pout.
Between conversations and more laughter, we reached the mall in no time. As Jessica had predicted, four mutants together got a bit of attention, but no one was disrespectful or blatantly glared at us. Without a doubt, I felt this city was my true home.
We arrived at the clothing store and tried on the different styles of bikinis available. Interestingly, there were many styles that were fitted perfectly for six-breasted mutants like me, with many unique designs. However, there was only one type of cow print bikini, so I decided to buy three tops of them.
After a few minutes, and having envied the size that Jessica needed, we were out. Each one carried a bag with their respective bikini, all with cow prints. We got into the twins’ car and went immediately to the beach. Luckily, we still had plenty of sun left.
When we got to the beach, we went directly to the changing rooms where we put on our bikinis. With the sunglasses and all the beach gear, we walked down to the beach. There were more mutants than we expected and everyone seemed to be having a good time, relaxing under the sun and each to their own business. The temperature was ideal and a dip in the water sounded exciting.
It was there with that pleasant weather, in that pleasant city, around all those pleasant people that I realized that being a mutant was the best thing that could have happened to me, and the fact that my best friends are also mutants made everything even better!
