The sunlight hit hard that day. It was possibly one of the hottest days this summer. I had the air conditioning on full blast to try to lessen the effect of the heat and that is because in Port Solei, living up to its name, sunny days are almost a constant.
I arrived at the city bus terminal and proceeded to park my car, desperately looking for a shady spot. Once I found it, I was able to go inside the terminal to find Lisa.
She is the daughter of Patrick, my mother's boyfriend, and she is about my age, a year older if I am not mistaken. Although Patrick is a nice person, the idea of my mother having a new boyfriend is not so exciting for me, especially now that he has moved into our house. However, mom is happy and that is the most important thing in the end. Now his daughter is coming to live with us, and the truth is that our house is not big enough.
I started walking through the terminal looking for Lisa. My mother had not given me any reference to her, in fact, until a couple of days ago I did not even know she existed, so I had to wander the platform holding a sign with her name on it waiting for her to see me.
I had already spent more than 15 minutes without being able to find her when suddenly I noticed that on one side of the platform there was a mutant girl standing motionless. She had reptilian-looking skin and six huge breasts on her chest, as well as a strange large backpack. Nevertheless, the most surprising thing was her lack of head.
Although living in Port Solei makes you see more mutants than in the vast majority of cities, headless mutants have always struck me as a hard thing to believe. Without much thought, I approached her out of curiosity. When she was just a few steps away, I could see what appeared to be green hair visible at the base of her neck.
"I wonder if she will hear," I awkwardly said aloud. Then the mutant girl's neck moved and from the hole in her neck, half a head popped out, staring at me with big green eyes.
It took me by surprise and I backed away quickly, using the sign in my hands as a shield. She saw the poster and quickly pulled the rest of her head out. Her skin was covered in soft scales, but I could tell she had a very nice and pretty face.
"You must be John!" She exclaimed. "I’m Lisa. Nice to meet you.”
“L-Lisa?” I asked still a little surprised, “Well… yes, I am John. I came looking for you.”
"Sorry I had my head hidden, I started to feel a little anxious and I tend to hide when I get nervous," she said looking at the ground.
"No, don’t worry about it… although I was worried, I thought you had not arrived or you were lost," I said trying to calm her down, "let's go home.”
When I accompanied her, I could see that her ‘backpack’ was actually a turtle shell. I had seen animal mutants before but I had never seen one that was half turtle.
We got in the car and I turned on the air conditioning. I could immediately see that she was feeling uncomfortable.
"Lisa, is something wrong?" I asked her.
"Y-yes, sorry for bothering you, but could you turn off the AC?" She said blushing a little, "The truth is, the low temperatures bother me a bit."
I did not want to bother her so I turned off the AC. I opened my window to try to cope with the heat as well as possible. I noticed that she was immediately feeling better.
"Ah, what a relief!" she exclaimed, stretching her arms. "One of the reasons I am moving is because I really need this weather."
"You are a summer girl apparently," I said.
"Well, it is impossible to be a winter one when you are cold blooded," she said smiling.
We continued talking and fortunately I realized that her shell was only limited to the one she was wearing on her back. Lisa had a very open and friendly personality that made me feel calm, seeing that we could get along.
We got home a few minutes later. My mother came out to meet us with Patrick. Lisa warmly hugged her father and my mother. At least she was a loving girl.
“Look at you… We are finally going to have a mutant girl in the family,” she said to her and then turned to look at me “You two seem to have gotten along well”
"Yes! John is very friendly and helpful," said Lisa.
"Well, Lisa is very nice and sweet," I said.
"I’m very happy," said my mother, "because since the additions to the house are not finished yet, Lisa and you are going to be sharing a bedroom."
I was a little perplexed. I was not lacking in experience sleeping with girls, but it was different with one I had just met. Moreover if, in a way, she was a part of my family even if not by blood.
“Easy John,” Lisa said, “I won't bother you, I promise… besides, I am not one of the snapping turtles,” she exclaimed laughing. I could not help but watch her breasts heave and collide due to her laughter. My life was really going to get wonderfully complicated from now on.
