The Mysterious Rattle 07

A few days later and Melany was still angry at James. “I can’t believe he forgot my age like that…” she grumbled, resting hands over her foreheads and eyes in an attempt to calm down. “Is it because I’m not big enough?” She grumbled thinking about her own chest size compared to the woman in the picture. She pounded her left head backward on the couch cushion as her right groaned in frustration.

James was in his room fiddling around on social media, feeling just as awkward and frustrated as Melany. “I’m such an ass…” he said to himself. Time slips away as he finds himself clicking just to avoid a confrontation, but eventually his clock betrayed him. “Time for dinner I guess…” he said as he weakly pushed his chair away from the desk, ready to face Melany in the other room.

“Hey Melany. What would you like to eat tonight?” He said opening the door. No answer. “Melany?” He walked over to the couch to find her passed out from her frustration. “She must be exhausted… and I’m not helping things.” James knelt down to gently pick up Melany’s hands which were hanging of the sofa and gently placed them on top of her. He stared for a minute at her breasts and then shut his eyes tight, trying not to ogle her mutations more than he needed to. He gathered up a blanket and draped it over her, watching her chest rise and fall softly with her breathing.

An hour passed. James was making a simple dinner of beans, rice, and chicken. The smell eventually roused Melany from her slumber, her right head slowly opening its eyes. She noticed the blanket James covered her up with and sighed heavily. She slowly got up, trying to shake the sleepiness from her other head before heading toward the kitchen.

“Hi… James…” Melany said softly.

“Oh. Hi Melany. Did you sleep well?” James said, trying to cover up the anxiety that was tying his stomach in knots simply for talking to her.

“I’m sorry, I should have cooked…” “…I fell asleep and…”

“You need to stop apologizing. You aren’t my servant Melany.” James put the plates on the table and motioned for Melany to sit down. “Look, I’m sorry that I upset you. I wasn’t really thinking about your feelings and I screwed up.”

“I’m sorry too,” Melany said sitting down. “I just got so jealous and…”

“Maybe…” James said cutting her off. “Maybe we can just, you know, try again? Pick out some clothes you like?”

“That sounds nice. I’d like that” Melany said with a soft smile. “Now let’s eat. I’m starving.”

The next day James spent a lot of time at work preparing for their shopping trip. He was only vaguely familiar with mutant clothing outlets, but luckily he didn’t have much of a choice in his small little town. The one at the mall would have to do. He did some research on what would be required. It was mostly just measurements, measurements he had no idea about. He swallowed hard realizing he was going to have to ask Melany for them.

“Whatcha up to James?” came a voice from behind him, a strong hand resting on his shoulder. It was Tom, being his busybody self, looking over him to catch a glance at his screen.

James immediately minimized the window as if he was caught playing videogames or looking at Pr0n. “What!? Nothing! I’m doing nothing! What do you want?”

Tom laughed a bit grabbing James’s mouse. “Ooooooh found some good “work” to do eh?” He opened the window despite James’s protests. “Mutant clothes? Did Caroline mutate and no one told me? Or do you just have a mutie fetish?”

James laughed nervously. “No! No no no no no not at all. I uh, it was an accident. Yeah, an accident. I was just browsing for clothes at the mall and you know, this is a store there, and sometimes you just look around, hehe.”

Tom lifted an eyebrow suspiciously as both men stared at each other for an almost unbearable amount of silence. “You’re a horrible liar… Anyway come with me. I need your help with this project and it won’t get done by itself.

“Melany I’m home!” James said as he walked in from work.

“How was your day?” Melany said from the couch.

“Fine, but… uh… before we go shopping we uhm…need to do something. Can you stand up?”

“Yeah, is something wrong?”

“No. I just need to, you know, take your measurements so we can give them to the tailor. Unless you know them?”

“No I haven’t been measured in a while….”

“That’s OK” said James digging through a closet to get a tape measure. “I think I can do this.”

“So what do I do?” Melany asked.

“Just stand still and put your arms out to the side for me.” James started wrapping the cold tape measure around Melany’s neck, then her chest, under her arms, her waist, Melany jerked every time it touched her skin. “You ok?” James asked.

“Yeah its fine… just cold.” Both of their hearts were racing. They were so close, and both were trying to convince themselves that this was just for the clothes.

James measured Melany’s arms and hesitated for a moment. “I’m going to have to measure your breasts now. Are they all the same size?”

“I think so!” Melany said, flushing red.

“Better… er… make sure just in case.” James wrapped the tame measure around each set of breasts from behind, and found that Melany was actually wrong. They subtly decreased in size as they went down her back. Not to mention her shoulders were very broad due to her two heads, which means her upper pair would need longer straps than her lower pairs. When the measuring was done, both Melany and James were practically out of breath from the tension.

“OK just about finished” James said, as he began to take measurements he read about on the website. He measured her tail at the base and the tip, as well as its length.

Melany jumped. She never really felt someone touch her tail like that before. “OH s-sorry that… that surprised me.”

James wiped the sweat from his forehead and started jotting down measurements. “OK, I think that’s it. We won’t have to do it again unless the clothes don’t fit.” He went into the other room to plug them into the website he was looking at while Melany stayed behind lost in her own thoughts. “I hope the clothes don’t fit then…”
