yes! i agree with this too, my momma raised me to always have good manners. one simmer suggested above that you could replace the sorry with something like "thank you for your time". then you can be polite without having to apologize! :)

yesssss!!! and especially for professors... i wanted to be a professor originally. and many of them are in that position because they have a passion for teaching and helping. going into industry is far more lucrative that being a professor, so the ones that make that choice are normally very passionate about it and want to help.

This is something that we all need to hear. I try to practice it IRL, but , I think it is a way to try to come off as polite in a setting that is mostly written exchanges. We don't want to sound mean or demanding, so instead we apologize for everything LOL. You are right, though. It needs to stop. We need to come up with better ways to communicate friendly intentions without defaulting to apology. :D

It is true what you say although I'd like to share a couple more things... 1) Many creators in our community DO get angry when you msg them with most requests, suggestions, or any constructive criticism and I get it. They are very busy, they are popular and prob get tons of msgs, and they are sensitive of criticism for their hard work. So, for me, it's almost feeling apologetic contacting them with any questions or suggestions. 2) I'm Canadian. It's just something we do! hahaha Thank you for your kindness and all your awesome work.
