Patreon's pricing change

Heya! I wanted a chance to talk to everyone about this in case you live under a rock lol. Or if you just somehow missed the announcement. But I don't like just making text posts so I made a quick sisters thing. Prolly saw it on X, but this is the patreon version. xP

So what exactly is happening?

The TLDR is this ;

Patreon will start adding a 30% charge onto subscriptions done through IOS. This only effects those of you that are subbed through IOS on an iphone or other related apple thing.

This does NOT effect those of you subscribed through PC,android, or literally anywhere else other than IOS.

I had absolutely no say in this and I'm not happy about it, so please don't be mad at me. This effects ALL patreon creators. ;-;

This does NOT effect current members. Meaning if you're subbed now through IOS, as long as you stay subscribed it will continue to not effect you and you won't get hit with the 30% surcharge.

This goes live after November. A lot of you will subscribe, unsubscribe, then resubscribe at a later time. I'm not complaining about it as I understand that people have different reasons for why they do things and it's never bothered me, this patreon is successful and that's what I care about. But what it does mean, is if you unsub, then resubscribe through IOS after Novemember 2024, the 30% surcharge will be there.

You can COMPLETELY avoid this by just subscribing through web, android, anywhere other than IOS and still use the IOS app signed in. My understanding is that this only applies to subscriptions made through IOS, so using apple pay essentially to pay for the subscription.
