Yes, every 1-2 years NCT releases a song with all the current members of that year in one song. In 2018, there was Black on Black with 18 members. In 2020, there was Resonance with 23 members. In 2021, there was Beautiful with 21 members. And the most recent one is Golden Age from 2023 with 20 members.

2023-12-24 12:18:08 +0000 UTCThis guide is quite outdated. Especially now in 2023 cause SM bombarded us with alot of changes🤣🤣 So: 1. NCT has 26 members now. 6 new members hv been added to nct after this guide was made. These 6 new members are apart of the NCT new sub unit called 'NCT New Team'(official name still being decided by SM) 2. Lucas left NCT and according to SM will be doing solo work. Sungchan and shotaro who were part of the group when this guide was made also left. 3. Winwin left nct 127 and has been with WayV. 4. NCT Dream are all 21+. No one was added to the group when Mark graduated so they remained as 6 members after Mark graduated in 2018. He returned in 2020 with Deja Vu. 5. NCT U isn't called just NCT when they release a song bc NCT is like their brand name and calling it just NCT would make it seem like it's all the members. For example like when a magazine releases different editions they don't just call it that. Like People's magazine has People: friends or People's special edition. 6. NCT (year) are very rare projects that NCT as a whole do 1 time per year sometimes. Example, NCT had 23 members in 2020 and so they did a year project called NCT 2020 Resonance album filled with different NCT U songs bc its when each fixed unit can come together and collab on an album for every song. Same with NCT 2018, NCT 2021 and NCT 2023. There is no full group project in 2016-2017, 2019 and 2022 because as I've mentioned it's very rare. Hope this helps. Like you guys know Mark is back on Dream. Lucas is no longer with WayV, and Sungchan and Shotaro are on another group, Riize. And SM never made it clear and did nothing to protect their artists honestly, just put him in hiatus for 2 years and kept the fans hanging. And the only allegation that he had was the cheating one which was made by a saesang right before the release of Jalapeño. It was already proven that he was innocent. And the other "scandals" are made up by his antis/haters.

2023-12-23 16:18:52 +0000 UTCThe guide is a bit outdated. To explain it simply, NCT is the whole group with all the members and debuted in 2016. There are 5 subunits and 26 members in NCT. The unlimited member and subunit concept was cancelled in 2023 and it was confirmed that there will be no more new members or subunits after this year. 3 members left NCT in 2023, with Shotaro and Sungchan being transferred to the new group Riize, who debuted in 2023 and Lucas left the group due to getting into a controversy after a series of serious allegations, but none of them had been confirmed. NCT U is a subunit where members of each of the units are chosen based on who fits the concept of certain songs and because it's not a fixed subunit, there are endless possibilities and combinations for each project. Every 2 years there is a joined project where every member participates for at least one song. NCT 127 is a Hip Hop and EDM based subunit which started out with 7 members in 2016, but now they have 9 currently active members and is a fixed subunit. Technically, there are 10 official members, but Winwin hasn't been active in 127 ever since he was transferred over to WayV in 2019, but he was never officially removed from the subunit. NCT Dream is a subunit that debuted in 2016 with a bright and youthful concept and has 7 members. There used to be a graduation system where each member will graduate from Dream after they turn 20 (the official age of adulthood in Korea), but because there was a big backlash when Mark graduated from Dream, SM dropped the concept and now Dream is a fixed subunit. Then there is WayV, the Chinese subunit of NCT. They were supposed to debut under the name NCT Vision soon after 127 and Dream, but due to the political tensions between Korea and China and the Hallyu ban, they were only allowed to debute under a different name with SM's Chinese sub label Label V in 2019. They used to have 7 members, but Lucas left the group in 2023, so now they have 6 members and are a fixed subunit. At last, there is the final subunit which is NCT's Japanese subunit NCT New Team. They've just recently debuted this year with 6 members and are also a fixed subunit with a bright and youthful concept like Dream. I hope thag helps and please let me know if you have any questions! To be homest stanning nct is a roller coaster ride, there's so many changes that are happening Basically, NCT is a very large group. NCT means Neo Culture Technology. They used to be a global group and had an unlimited member concept and havung units that are based on cities around the world. But that was their concept back then BUT... a lot has changed especially this year. SM Ent. announced that they are no longer continuing the unlimited member concept and NCT will stop adding more members in the future after the japanese team debuts. So to explain the units in simple terms. For now, there are 5 units: The 1st sub-unit is NCT U. It is a ROTATIONAL unit meaning any member can be part of it. Depends on who fits the song the best. The lineup changes every song The 2nd sub-unit is NCT 127. It is a FIXED unit based in Korea. The 127 is the longitude of Korea. Consist of 9 members: Taeil, Johnny, Taeyong, Yuta, Doyoung, Jaehyun, Jungwoo, Mark, and Haechan +(Winwin who used to be in 127 but is now in WayV) The 3rd sub-unit is NCT Dream. It is also now a FIXED unit based also in korea (used to have a graduation concept where when a member turns 20 they would move to another unit). They are the youth-based team and we literally saw them grew lol. They are like our babies. Consist of 7 members: Mark, Renjun, Jeno, Haechan, Jaemin, Chenle, Jisung The 4th sub-unit is WayV. It is a FIXED unit based in China. Also known as NCT "Vision" The reason why they don't have nct in their name is because of Korea and China political agendas but they are part of NCT. All the members have different nationalities but all of Chinese descent. Consists of 6 members: Kun, Ten, Winwin, Xiaojun, Hendery, Yangyang, Lucas (former member) The 5th and most current sub-unit is NCT DoJaeJung. Which is a trio unit formed this year by members DOyoung, JAEhyun, and JUNGwoo. The unit is a combination of their names. And lastly, the last unit will debut next year which is the Japanese unit. To sum it all... If a song only has 127 members, then it is NCT 127. If a song only has Dream members, then it is NCT Dream. If a song only has WayV members, then it is WayV. If a song has a MIX of members from 127, Dream, or WayV, then it is NCT U. If a song has ALL the members from 127, Dream, and WayV, then it is NCT. The sub-units promotes and release their albums separately but every other years, they all come together to release a full collective album with all the members. The album consists of songs from either U, 127, Dream, and WayV. The first time was NCT 2018 - Empathy (where they had 18 members) The second time was NCT 2020 - Resonance Pt. 1 and Pt. 2 (where they had 23 members) The third time was NCT 2021 - Universe (where 21 members participated, 2 were inactive -Lucas&Winwin) The fourth one was NCT 2023 - Golden Age (20 members, 3 left the group sadly but this is mainly the company's decision) (They are still all under the same company tho 🥲 Lucas will debut as soloist, and Shotaro and Sungchan who were introduced in 2020, and did not have a fixed unit yet were moved to SM New Group which is RIIZE) Tbh 2023 has been a very tough year for the fans. Also, Sungchan and shotaro, this members has no fixed unit under nct, they has been redebuting under new sm boy group, riize, out of nct brand. So the total members are not 23 anymore lmao.

There is 1 song with all members but its more like performance song. Mark graduated and then put back in nct dream is like a traumatic experience for fans and members. They released multiple songs related to this like “dear dream” is a song for mark departure, “rainbow” is like a song when mark coming back to dream, and “graduation” music video is related to this event too. 2023-12-23 15:37:26 +0000 UTCMost of the time the subunits will be releasing their own albums but when they come together, the NCT album would consist of mainly NCT U songs and maybe 1 song from each subunit (127, Dream and WayV) as well as 1 song that has all the members singing together. You should check out Black on Black, Resonance, Beautiful and Golden Age MVs so you can understand the concept a bit better.
