He has a hard of gold, the bravery of an army, the kindness and gentleness of a parent towards the people he will eventually rule over, and he never takes anything personally while being in touch with his emotions and honest about his feelings. His character was, in a way, supposed to encompass this. It serves as a direct contradiction to the toxic, primal masculinity portrayed in Mordor, where Orcs are always on the verge of proving they are the strongest by beating each other up, and have no feelings whatsoever, and no real courage.

When I was like 11 and obsessed with the series I used to spend so much time on “lordoftherings.net” or whatever it was lol. They had all the different actors saying like “I’m Elijah Wood, and welcome to Lord of the Rings” whenever the site loaded in - I would refresh the site over and over to hear Aragorn and Legolas’s hahaha. They really said “I’m Gollum, and you’re watching Disney Channel”
