September is a Month (and Almost the Best One)
Added 2019-09-01 14:08:00 +0000 UTCI went over a lot of this stuff recently but I'm going to consolidate it all here:
I'm trying new things this month! One of the big ones just has to do with time. I'm cleared up of more time now and will likely be not opening commissions for a while so I can focus that time on Patreon and Comics. I still don't have all the time in the world and I can't survive on Patreon alone, but its a huge help and now I will have more time to invest in it for more content (and much of it being able to work on what I want).
Comic project updates will be on Fridays this month (something I started last week). The idea is that I will be less pressured to cram as much work into the weekend as possible and wind up with a garbage progress. So far, working well. I have a specific goal per week I would like to meet; but I want to see how consistent I am first before I start promising stuff, the comic has taken way longer than I would have liked and I definitely need to keep future projects smaller.
Future comics are probably going to be split into 8 page chapters, 16 tops. I thought about breaking Twins into three parts but that felt kind of cheap to do at this point and I would rather just stick to what I started.
I have a few last Barria steps to finish. Going to get those done as soon as possible.
Last month's winner was Barria bursting out of office clothes. But there were a ton of interesting suggestions. Because Barria x Kat stuff has an unfair advantage I was trying to think of a way of giving other poll options a shot. I have two solutions:
1. Work through poll results. First place I am obligated to finish for the month but the remainder work like drawing prompts in the order of their placement as I can.
2. Do two separate polls. One for my OC's / NEU stuff, and one for other suggestions.
Both options have pros and cons. So I may try one method for a while then possibly switch to the other. Still really thinking about it.
Shadowlark stuff will probably still show up here from time to time but at some point I will likely be trying to get that started again. Because Shadowlark has traditionally had a different target than my fetish art (with some overlap) and its mood is very different from the kind of content that is popular here, I am most likely going to keep that as its own project apart from my other work when I get to it. I'll have more info on it later on but for now just know my main focus is here and I wont be devoting a great deal of time to that until I can maintain my patreon.
I think that's pretty much everything. I still want to work on being better with time management and consistency - getting back to where I once was.
Comments
One of the merits of the polls in general has been that they serve as writing prompts and have been both open and structured enough to give me good direction and freedom at the same time. With a few exceptions I have really struggled on, they are often just good illustration practice.

2019-09-01 15:35:39 +0000 UTCSounds great! I'm very excited for the Shadowlark content, I'm a big fan of what I've seen so far. As for the Barria problem, maybe a compromise where every other month they are included? That way there is a break from them and some other options get a change to happen?

2019-09-01 15:20:31 +0000 UTCIf you want to keep the poll idea, just do it then remove the winning option from the next poll, that way worst case scenario you just rotate... maybe?
