8 Challenge Recap (Part 1)

Good morning guys, here's an exclusive look inside my 8 Challenge!

As I told you here 10 days ago, the challenge was to isolate myself from everything online and life in general to focus exclusively on music, just like in the old days.

I had done this 2 and a half times in my life (a long time ago, the first time as a professional producer was in 1995) and it was the way albums were recorded from the 60s to the early 2000s. I thought about it after the release of Osito in September. 

I recorded Osito while I had to be online all the time, with many daily responsibilities (posting daily here, in OF, JFF, and on open social media is a job in itself - necessary when you're an independent artist because no one is going to do promo for you, and promo is the key to sales), and it was exhausting, and I felt that some of the songs (not many, maybe three) were affected by my lack of attention, not reaching their full potential.

And while I was watching a Bee Gees documentary where they told the story behind the recording of "You Should Be Dancing" and other legendary hits, I remembered how it used to be. And I resolved to save money and make it happen in 2023.

Fast forward (I'll tell you more in the next posts) and the challenge ended with not 8 but 11 new songs. And I'm super excited about them because they feel powerful and fresh, like the songs I wrote in the 90's that are still played in clubs around the world.

I don't know what will happen when the album comes out with these songs, but to be able to write them like this already feels like a privilege and a reward. Thank you so much for your continued support. You made this possible.
