Merry Christmas!
Added 2024-12-25 19:02:44 +0000 UTCHello everyone, long time no see.
To make a long story short, I feel much better after pausing membership. Without that lingering anxiety and pressure, I simply gave myself a break.
During this time, I also played a few games that are currently on DLsite. Seeing the recent H-games being so cool, with features like 3D, simulation, action, and even open-world—all the bells and whistles—I always feel that the game I make isn’t impressive enough.
Whenever this happens, I want to do a major overhaul, such as enlarging the window resolution, remaking the UI, and updating the game's graphics look more like a 2024 game. This would definitely attract more players, right?
But when I think about the fact that if I don't solve the optimization issues, none of this can be done, my feelings get very complicated.
So what should I do? I haven't been able to solve this for a year, the production progress has been stagnant, and I've lost a lot of confidence and motivation. Most of the time, I feel depressed because of this.
This might just be something that can't be helped.
I've slowly come to terms with it now. Anyway, I'll just finish the game.
I will resume work next month.
My first plan is to completely re-plan the entire game process, so you might see a completely different story beginning.

Probably an update to the resolution ONLY. What you are accomplishing is still much more than many other eroge out there, especially in terms of gameplay. You're saying that you're losing confidence and motivation because your progress has been stagnant due to the optimization problems. At this point, your engine swap thing might be a good idea. What you're trying to accomplish is beyond the capabilities of the engine you are using. You also won't be working with a BLANK canvas if you start in Unity, which I think might be your best bet. You can use transferring what you have into the new engine as the learning part of it, and then finish up. At least if you're building in the new engine, you'll be actually working on progressing, which can feel liberating on its own. It sounds like your anxiety is building up, and your progress is halted because of both anxiety and the limitations of the engine you are building in. Even if you are starting from a "new beginning," it will be better to remove one obstacle (engine) to help relieve your anxiety.

2024-12-26 03:05:38 +0000 UTCI think anyone who creates something and starts comparing it to others is bound to feel like their work falls short in some way—whether it’s thinking the story could be better, the combat could feel smoother, or something else entirely. But honestly, what you’ve made is impressive in its own right. I don’t see too many games like yours (wolf girls are definitely a plus), and I personally prefer your art style over 3D. What I’m trying to say is: I’m here for what you create, and I really enjoy your work, so I want to support it. I know I’m just one person, but I think you should keep making the things you want to make. After all, isn’t that why you started in the first place?

2024-12-25 19:45:02 +0000 UTCPersonally, I feel the game has a rather unique style of art, and I really like it. If you do plan on updating it, I hope you keep the feel, but regardless, I'll be here to support you 😊
