If you are the one paying the child support, but they are not, and are not working, you may very well be getting taken advantage of. You have clearly said before that you do what you do out of love. You have also said that Callum is a good dad, but have also implied that he is not working. However, sometimes love means that you may have to make the hard decisions of putting your foot down, and having the father contribute something. They can work a job to make money, then contribute to the relationship that way. It is what is needed for families to grow. Honestly Chloe, if it were you and I in this situation, I can guarantee you I would be working my tail off for you and the children, so the children can grow up with bright futures. Both parents working together shows the children what living is like. It shows them that things in life are not to be just handed out, but worked for, so they are genuinely appreciated. Kids not only need to be told the value of hard work, but they need to see it from BOTH parents working and providing. You should not have to shoulder all of that burden on yourself Chloe. You are showing Callum that you care about him by having him help raise your children, but you may need to insist that he work a job as well, and not just being there superficially as a stay at home dad. What happens, if for some reason, he no longer does his part raising your children, and you are left to do it by yourself? That could become a potential reality. Kids really need to see the male character of making sacrifice through hard work. That is the real display of care. Otherwise, the kids only see the parent who cares, and see the reality in the other who really does not contribute. 2024-04-29 22:23:59 +0000 UTCTbh if there numbers are correct your easily making 300 k a year including patreon and YouTube you pay 72k a year in child support tbh it's a lot because you make so much money so yes and no you could go to court and try getting it lowered but that could backfire even worse if they decide well actually you make more now
