You get your blood back after it filtrates the cytoplasm and your body replenishes for it in around 72 hours. However, in the US you can donate blood 6 times a year which is still fucked up as the 'standard' is once every 3-4 months, so there is that..

2023-09-27 20:36:33 +0000 UTCew!!! but actually, im wondering, do they even sort out the plasma by age range before using it on those rich customers? did you find any info on that? cause not only young people "donate" their plasma and as opposed to blood id guess there are much fewer regulations as to how you have to process or label the substance so it would be easier to obfuscate who it came from (maybe). would be interesting to get a look into the administrative processes of one of those blood transfusions schemes.

At a rally several graduate students I spoke to mentioned that they had to sell their plasma at least once a month just to make ends meet. It's an insane market that preys on young, working people.
