January 2023 - Progress Update and Sketch Dump

January was one of those months that felt both really really long, and like it went by like that. idk what that says about the quality of the month, but hey, its over.
I've been slowly recovering from the partial life implosion of last year, and kinda have my 2023 goals set out for me. I went over them a bit in the 2022 post-mortem, so I won't really repeat myself on that. But do know that I am recovering.
MBaW! is still paused, prolly will remain like that til, oh lets say summer. maybe earlier, maybe not, but we'll leave it on the back shelf to recover for the time being.
Hypnagogia has been going good, if a bit slow. We are about 1 update away from finishing Chapter 1 and starting Chapter 2, which is exciting. the slow down was in part a mix of on the fly directional changes I was not 100% sure where to go with, and the fact that the current local, the Mandala, is a tad high effort in aesthetic. once Yu leaves the Mandala, things should be a bit easier.
Streaming has started to take off in full. I stream weekly at Sunday, 2-6pm PST, and started playing the Sly Trilogy. Unfortunately, turns out Sly is an extremely finicky game to emulate, meaning its been Sly Cooper and the Constant Slowdown for us so far. I may or may not add a second stream time, once i figure out the best time.
oh and also, commissions. somehow, when i wasn't looking, i got like a huge backlog of commissions, some of them pretty big. I think, what I'm going to do is get thru my current queue, and set myself a limited number of slots per month or something, because I like getting to do coms, but really big coms are often just such a commitment, they can easily overload me.
I want to make a lot of art for 2023, so i am currently debating with myself about my Daily doodle rules, to possible "extend" my definition so as to spend the time i put on a daily doodle towards coloring/shading a previous doodle to a full work. either that or make my doodles even more doodlish, and not basically a full line art piece every day. idk, what do you think?
and lastly, my sketch request live streams are going to be the first Sunday of each month now, from noon-4 PST, with the possibility of going an extra 2 hours over to 6, if we're up for it. for February, that'll be on the 5th over on Twitch,
