Stopping the blizzard was more dangerous than Earth Hedgehog. Roxy warned Rudy that large changes to the weather in one place can have serious consequences in another. Timothy was out of mana and Suzanna and Patrice were so exhausted they would have been more of a risk than a help.

First off great reaction again guys. Rudy's new exercise regimen is part of his depression. His thoughts were the one thing that will never abandon him is his own body, might as well get it in shape. So every morning 100 pushups, 100 sit ups, 100 squats, a 10 k run, 100 sword swings and the Sword God forms. People strangely have not noticed the panties but believe that Quagmire is very pious, he prays often. Rudy has learned how rare and expensive healing magic is, in the north there is an ongoing scam of finding someone hurt healing them with magic charging them a huge debt and then selling them into slavery when they can't pay it. It is why the girl looked afraid at first. Rudy healing her for free is seen as very generous. Rudy also does not charge groups what his going rate as an A rank mage should be, he works on the cheap. He also takes jobs that should be beneath him like the snow shoveling job. Normally the squares are cleared by everyone piling up the snow inside the magic circle around the device and mages take turns putting mana into it to melt the snow. Rudy was able to melt the whole area by himself. As for why he didn't wait for Counter Arrow to go find Sara. Timothy was out of mana, he had to rest for the night, Suzanna had to drag him back to the Guild, and she and Patrice were exhausted. As for Rudy never getting another chance at a girls panties, Eris left Rudy hers, taking for herself a pair of his. In the LN that is what he burned in the fire not her hair. No one really knows Earthdeus's name. As for Sara after Rudy left with Sol she tried to hunt him down to apologize only for Elise to find her and give her a stern lecture, Sara spent the night crying over her failed romance and let it go.

The suicide attempt scene is such a well-done example of why it’s dangerous to rely too much on substances to cope with mental anguish. The alcohol did not help here, the chemicals in your brain masking all of the emotions and pain can certainly cause a whiplash effect and end up exacerbating the problem you were trying to escape from in the first place, hitting you all at once.
It's a harrowing thought to realize how fast these kinds of things can happen…
Substances are a tool, not a cure

"Why did he go by himself" The way I see it, I imagine some of the magic he decided to use against the snow buffalo would be hard to control with people around him. He also probably just wanted some time alone to figure out his thoughts

You make some very fair points but I don't think I'll ever be able to get over the fact that it's underwear 😅 but you're right at this point the perversion is gone and just the comfort the item brings remains

Throughout episode two, Rudy showed signs that something was off. For example, he didn't notice grabbing her chest while catching her in the cave. After rescuing her, he didn't react to her being almost naked while he was healing her. He always felt like something was off. Then, when he failed to perform due to his PTSD from being abandoned by Eris, Sara made it worse with her immediate reaction. Taking his history of being depressed in his previous life into account, his reaction is not really surprising.
However, I'm sure "get over it already" is the number one advice therapists give to patients with depression and PTSD.
I'm happy for George that he doesn't know what real depression feels like.
In any case, Elinalise may be able to help if she catches up to him.
Really great discussion afterwards.

I feel like George is too focused on the aspect that it’s underwear that Rudy keeps of Roxy’s and not the fact that it’s literally the only thing he has of this person who mended his life long trauma and gave him his start in this world. When he rescued Aisha, he told her that “holding onto something of someone you admire can be reassuring”. He was also embarrassed when Lilia gave it to him. And there’s been nothing perverse about how he treats it. If anything, him making the shrine for it is him revering this object of a person he holds in very high regard. Also thank you Graham for challenging George on criticizing Rudy saying “get over yourself”. While he’s broadly correct in the points he stated, how you approach something like this requires a much more gentle touch. As someone who’s been down a hole of depression that did get to a really dark place, George’s way of tackling a situation like that NEEDS to be dealt with more tact and thought when it comes to someone in that fragile of a state. It can potentially get very dangerous otherwise. Glad the conversation went in the direction it did! That’s hands down my favorite part of you guys. You actually take time to discuss what you watch and react to, and there’s a LOT to discuss about this show.
