Jobless Reincarnation Season 1 Episode 16-17

Jobless Reincarnation Season 1 Episode 16-17

I think you guys misunderstood what Paul was blaming Rudy for, so, Rudy knew that the Roa city had people teleporting, but didn't know about Buena village, he didn't know the scale of the mana disaster, what Paul expected of Rudy, is to look for Eris's guards/ servants or anyone that works for the Boreas family, to help him gather info and get back safely, which would also help letting everyone know they're safe, instead Rudy went on his own path and decided to go with Ruijerd, and about the message, Paul sent it specifically to Rudy, assuming Rudy was alive, and assuming he was an adventurer now, however, the reason Rudy missed it, is when he was a Zanto port, he got kidnapped before he could check in at the adventurer's guild, where the receptionist would hand him the letter, and well, Rudy got cut midway through his story before he managed to tell Paul about that part, which led to a bunch of misunderstanding, also consider that a lot of Paul's POV of the year and a half was skipped, but in reality it was pretty tragic, Paul almost committed suicide multiple times, the only thing that kept him from going insane was Norn, and he always kept thinking that what he was living was a nightmare or dream, because imagine just waking up in the middle of nowhere and now you're basically living a different life without your family as if they never existed For example, some details like him selling his S rank adventurer badge to get Norn treated (she got horribly sick at one point) or how he got his hands on that horse, by stealing it from the adventurer's guild, or him taking the blame for people in his group dying in an attempt to save others who got teleported, or how he had to kneel in front of Zenith's family (the royal family in Millis) only for them to reject his request to release the enslaved or give him money, dude Paul went through A LOT another skipped detail that was never explained, is that if you had any physical contact with someone, you would both teleport together, which was the case with Paul and Norn, or Eris and Rudy 39:25 Graham, she did say I will murder him, not beat him up, I love that part about Eris, it's totally in character for her to say something like that lol Eris says "Bukkoroshite" from ぶっ殺す (bukkorosu) "to kill" you were thinking of "Butobashite" which is from ぶっ飛ばす (butobasu), meaning "to beat up"

Thank you for the added context you've been giving through your comments. And reading the LN while we watch is some real dedication 👏

Including Vierra's backstory would've been awesome. Obviously an adaptation has to choose what it keeps and cuts, but that would've given a lot of depth to her character

I’ve been listening to the audiobook of Ascendance of a Bookworm for a while now when I have time and I’m really into it. I can’t keep track of multiple deep stories at the same time so I’m just recalling things that really stood out to me from the MT LNs. Your comments on these videos are also reminding me of interesting details I’ve forgotten and are cool to think about again.

I am rereading the LN trying to keep pace with the show, as the guys watch.

Nice reaction and discussion guys. Excited to watch the rest of the season with you.

Yes. Thank you. I can’t remember everything when there’s so much. I got them on audiobooks and I gotta listen to them again. It’s been months since I’ve listened to any of the LNs.

Vierra also helps any woman who has gone through similar experiences that they rescue, a strong and well written character that doesn't get the time and justice she deserves. Shierra is also incredibly capable and even with her androphobia tries to keep Paul and the search and rescue squad organized. This is why the Light Novels are worth reading.

So, there was a lot skipped in these two episodes as they cover 222 pages in the Light Novel. Graham, you are correct. Millishon has a monopoly on divine magic, barrier magic, and detoxification magic, the latter two are considered to be branches of healing magic. George good catch on the Atlantis references, that is exactly the way Millishon is described. Due to the crazy events in both Windport and Zantport, Rudy missed the message. Eris saw them but didn't inform Rudy because of her distorted view that Rudy is a genius and knows everything, she assumed he already knew. Rudy in telling his story to Paul was interrupted when he got to Windport, so before meeting Kishirika or being captured by the beast-folk. Paul didn't even know about those events when they had their fight. When Paul and Norn were teleported they were a month south of Buena Village near the village Lilia was from. Paul took a letter delivery quest, because for those sorts of missions a horse is provided. Paul intentionally failed that quest and basically stole the horse. Paul was first funded by some Asuran nobles, but later begged Zenith's mother, a Millishon noblewoman, for help. That is where the search and rescue squad is getting funding now. Ruijerd's line to Paul about grievances with your son only mattering while he is alive hits harder when you remember that Ruijerd's son died to break the curse Laplace had placed on Ruijerd. Yes Geese is a demon, he told Eris and Rudy this when they were trying to get him to teach them how to cook. Geese has many skills but he doesn't really excel at anything. This made him a great fit for The Fangs of The Black Wolf, but not really good in any other adventuring party where there were others who could also do what he could do and fight as well. We have also now met all the Fangs of the Black Wolf: Ghislaine, Paul, Talhand, Elinalise, Geese, and Zenith. Finally some things were really abbreviated to keep the story moving, in the novel Dead End spent a week in Millishon doing some quests and also waiting to have dinner with Paul who is very busy. Rudy bought Eris a formal dress, and Ruijerd met a boy he saved who is now a high official in the Millishon military, he is the one in the Light Novel who wrote the letter of introduction and waived the fee on Superds, for their next boat to the southern end of the Central Continent. I think the cuts were good for the emotional pacing, but they make me wonder how they will handle some later story threads. We will see. Another great reaction guys.

Ok so I wanna explain the bikini armor girl and the other one who’s with her. Vierra is in the bikini and Shierra is the timid one with the long bangs. The anime completely skips the explanation of why she wears that. Both girls were teleported and repeatedly assaulted while being trafficked until Paul rescued them. Shierra was heavily scarred to the point where she is afraid to be in the same room as a man. So Vierra took it upon herself to wear such armor to attract all male attention away from Shierra. Even tho she went through the same thing as Shierra, she’s still willing to do something like this for her. That’s also why Paul was so offended when Rudy insinuated he was having sex with Vierra. There are SO many great or interesting characters who get their backstories nixed from the anime and it sucks. Unfortunately, it can’t be helped when the story is so dense. They also skip the super awkward dinner between Paul, Rudy, Eris, and Norn.
