In the anime Winged Kuriboh has been shown to negate all damage taken once it leaves the field. Ancient Gear Golems piercing damage would count as effect damage. Chazz in his matches with Jaden never used his monster effects to remove Winged Kuriboh from the field because it would negate any further damage, opting instead to just attack it normally.
