So, there are some interesting facts and trivia regarding these episodes. Kaliback is voiced by Michael Dorn, who played Worf in Star Trek. He literally showed us the worf effect here. Manheim, Dan Turpin, and Darkseid are all creations of Jack Kirby, with Turpin’s design being based on Jack specifically. He died a few years before this episode, and Dan’s death was a tribute to him. Also, Maggie Sawyer, the police commissioner, is a lesbian, and that woman at her bedside is her comic book girlfriend. Sadly, the 1990s weren’t allowed to confirm LGBTQ people in television.
