The screams of the mob were audible, but still distant. Not that April was particularly worried about them, but she knew she didn't need to rush things. There was time to get it exactly right. In spite of the ingredients the substance bubbling away in the cauldron smelt quite enticing. Any moment now it would be ready. She watched the sands of her hourglass pour down to a few grains with an almost manic glee. Then they were spent & she turned to the cauldron. The warm liquid changed from a sickly green to a beautiful crimson, then odor sweetened even more. It was done. It was perfect. In spite of how delicious it looked & smelled April took a delicate sip from her stirring spoon. Just enough to see if things had truly come out just right. It tasted like everything she'd ever loved eating, all at once, but separated, like a memory of delicacies flooding into her mind, but it was actually pouring into her belly. When it reached her empty stomach the feeling of warm satisfaction washed over her as if she was experiencing the culmination of a thousand meals all at once. It was absolute bliss... and the effect on her body was almost instantaneous.
