I signed up here since you were nice enough to answer my question about the round brushes. I'm looking forward to viewing all of your previous videos. Cheers!

Literally just for fun. I miss that in modern tools.

Somewhere a cartoon villain is without his deadly explosive device. :) Your usual careful, sympathetic work, mate. Well done. One wonders what design advatages there were to manufacturing a globe-shaped motor rather than the usual cylinder. Was it purely a matter of aesthetics? What have you found out about this critter?

Odd. Spray paint usually takes longer to harden, but I always bake mine for hours to make sure it is fully cured. You may also want to try some 2K spray paint, like I used on the big yellow chainsaw. It's a two-component catalyzed spray paint that is fully fuel-resistant and hard as nails when cured, which only takes a few hours. You couldn't scratch it with your fingernail no matter how hard you tried. If you don't bake the normal spray paint, I would say it's about a month before it gets close to as hard as I would like it. I am going to hook up a large oven in the workshop soon, so I will be able to bake some real japanning, which is also stupidly tough since it's basically asphalt.

Thank you! Actually that was the first take. I just have the SKILLZ

im... surprised you went with rattlecans for the motor's paint. I'd like to think that im not a terrible painter, but with alot of my projects ive done, tool resto's or even refurbishing parts on my ATV, the spray can paint never seems to harden... no matter what prep work i do, how clean the part is, smooth finish, scuffed finish, different primers, paint directly on metal, sandblast finish, heating.... waiting WEEKS for it to dry before i even touched it. clear coats, no clear coats... the paint never fails to very easily chip. or scratch. like most of the stuff i could easily probably scratch off with a fingernail if i tried hard enough. only thing i havent really tried is other brands. been using rustoleum enamle based paints. but i think im either going to invest in an actual spraygun, to be honest. im just suprised you went with the rattlecans this time around. do you often run into the same issue?

As always love your work, so satisfying. How many takes did you go through to get the spin at the beginning just right?

Haha perfect!

Do you remember the movie Edward Scissorhands??? The machines... https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn%3AANd9GcSUE-nwoVnc_pyT5C1ilWvyopGiykkrCuXKUAIh6t5PjiQlUikm

I was just messing around. It's actually a motor for a medical vibrator.

Hand Tool Rescue

So ... that's cool. Were you just being your own goofy self or was that bit at the end how the device was intended to be used?
