Added 2024-01-31 08:01:28 +0000 UTCClark went up to his room to get the pocket money. He found the pocket money inside a book the previous Clark was saving. After getting the money he came down stairs and told Martha that he was going out to buy something which he needed to do his work.
Clark left the house with his bicycle which Jonathan had gifted Clark on his 10th birthday. This time he decided to use it instead of his superpower because his clothes might not keep up with his superpowers. Clark paddled his bicycle toward the comic book store in the marketplace.
Smallville is a town which is known for its farms. This town was founded by Jonathan's parents who made their farm and settled here. And then slowly people started to settle down here with their families and farms. Clark stopped his bicycle outside the comic book store in the marketplace. He parked his bicycle and entered the comic book store.
He entered the store and looked around for the owner. But he didn't find anyone. So after looking around he started to check the comic books which were present in the store. He found that all the comics were unknown to him. He didn't find many comics which could interest him. He quickly started to check all the comics in the store. While checking the comics he found a title which surprised him in the weekly comic section.
Clark found a Watchmen comic in the weekly section. He grabbed the comic book and quickly checked its issue number. It was issue 3 of the Watchmen comics series. He quickly read it and found out that it was the same as the movie he had watched in his previous life. He soon understood the reason why he didn't find it in the system library as it was already being published by Alan Moore.
Clark put the comic in its place and started to look at the remaining comics in the store. As Clark was searching for the comics from his previous life when the door behind the counter opened and a boy of his age came out from it. His name is Tony Smith. He went to the same school as Clark. In fact he was in Clarks class, now he was waiting for the high school to start.
And when Tony looked around the store to check for customers he was surprised to find Clark here in a comic book store. In his opinion Clark was a calm guy who only spoke to his friends. He just mind his own business but if someone asks him for help he would help immediately even if that person is not his friend.
He was surprised to find Clark here because Clark was a nerd and introvert who only had two friends in his opinion. He quickly called Clark, "Hey Clark." Clark, who was checking the comic books, stopped and turned around to see Tony at the counter. From the memories he knew the boy name who had called him.
Clark grated him back, "Hi Tony." And again started to check the comics. Saying that Clark didn't want to continue talking, Tony started to do his own work. Tony's father had entrusted this store to him when he said he wanted to earn extra money. So his father put him in charge of this Store and Tony will be getting 30% of the profit this store would earn.
So he started to do the register work. He had to show this register to his father everyday. In this register he kept all the entries of the comic books people purchased. While Tony was doing his work Clark checked all the comic books titles and cover pages in the store.
He didn't find many comics which could interest him other than watchmen and three others. While Clark was checking the comics book he was not only searching for comics which he found interesting but also checking the genre which people like the artwork of pages of comic coloring style and many things. He found that like his previous world, many comics were superhero based while Many comics were new and some were old and started before his birth.
Clark knew that he had to improve many things if he wanted to publish his comic in this world. but he could not be sure as there are many things which are needed to take into concentration before doing anything. He didn't know how to publish a comic book. So the first thing he could do was draw a comic in a notebook then color it and show it to Jonathan.
Jonathan might help him in this situation or he could just find someone to publish his comic. After making his mind Clark took a watchman comic issue from the shelves. He walked toward the counter and found Tony working on a register. Clark put the comic on the counter and Tony looked up from his register.
He first looked at Clark and then at the issue Clark had put on his table. Clark gave him 4 dollars which he took and put them in a drawer. "Clark, it is a comic book which is currently selling like a hot cake. I didn't expect you to buy it."
"Well I read the first issue and was surprised by the story and character in this comic. So I came here to buy it." Clark replied. "So this is your store now."
"Nah I am just working here before High School starts for extra pocket money. By the way, yesterday's dish was delicious. Everyone liked it and praise your mothers cooking." Tony said as he took out change and gave it to Clark.
Clark took the change and complimented his mother and asked him, "So are there all the comics in this store?" Tony looked surprised by Clarks question but replied, "Yes, here are all the comics which are currently available in the market. Dad is a fan of comic books so he made this store and every month he makes sure that there are all comics available in this store."
"Ha ha ha." Clark laughed. "I didn't know that Mr James was this big comic fan to open a comic book store." Tony also nodded his head in agreement and Clark took his comic book and started to work toward the door. As Clark was leaving Tony said, "Clark this comic had a rating of 13 years old. Keep that in mind that your parents didn't see it."
"Okay." Clark replied as he made his way toward the door but stopped in his tracks and asked Tony about his favorite comic book. Tony was initially surprised by Clark's question but he answered his question excitedly. "My all time favorite comic book is Captain America but now I am a fan of Watchmen also. And what is your favorite comic book?" Tony asked and Clark replied " Superman."
"What?" Tony asked but Clark turned the question and started to ask all kinds of questions regarding comic books which came to his mind. Tony answered all the questions which he could but some remained and answered so as Clark was done talking with Tony another customer entered the store and Clark took his leave after that. Tony told him to meet at the school to answer his question after asking his father about them.
Clark took his bicycle and started to move in the direction of the general store which was just a few steps away from the comic Store. Actually Tony's father here owns four stores. He was one of the richest men in this town. All his stores were in a line one after another. So Clark stopped this bicycle outside the store and entered it.
He greeted the store owner, "Hello Mr Evans." This was morning time so he was the only customer in the store. "Hello Clark, doing morning shopping." Evan asked Clark to which, "Yes, I am looking for some things," Clark said as he started to look for a plane spiral, some sketch pens, colors and markers. Evan was one of the people who buys milk and dairy products and crops from the farmers of Smallville. He is also a good friend of Clark's father.
After buying the things he required Clark was left with 150 dollars in his pocket. Clark left the store and picked up his bicycle and started to move toward his home. When Clark reached his home it was already noon. So after putting all the things which he had brought from the store in his room. Clark had brought three spirals, a set of sketch pens, some colors and 3 black markers. The spirals he had brought had thick pages which would not ruin the page after drawing and coloring. Satisfied Clark left his room and removed his shirt and started to give the cows water to drink.
While the cows were busy drinking water Clark was thinking about his visit to the comic Store. After visiting the store Clark was sure that no one would read solo leveling if he released it now as Korean shows are not very popular nor is he an established comic maker in the industry who has connections and fan base. So all he could do now is to establish himself in the industry and then release Korean manhwa.
Suddenly, Clark got another idea, "System, can I publish comics online?" Clark asked the system as he remembered from his memories that the system never states any conditions which prevent him from publishing comics online.
