Vicky - Comforting Sounds

While her tech is usually top of the line bordering on alien (and sometimes is), there's one piece of antiquated hardware she refuses to get rid of: an old analog handset. To her, the noise, texture, and lack of clarity is as comforting and familiar as father's scent.

there used to be a pay phone by the public pool in my old home town. A friend of mine's dad was dead set against cell phones back in the 90s (he was convinced they caused brain cancer), so he knew the phone numbers of all the pay phones in town so he wouldn't have to call people on cell phones. I noted the pool one because it was always so funny watching people freak out when the phone rang, and it always ended up being my friends dad.
