Hello Adventurers! Look, I like bogs, mires, swamps, and fens. They are just so atmospheric, and this one is no exception. This is a, hopefully useful, Mire map, sometimes called a bog. It's a desolate open biome with few trees, often part of a moorland. These places are treacherous for travellers, due to their quicksand-like pools.
The Frozen Crevasse is coming in December. I’m hoping to squeeze in the Great Raft before New Year's, but I’ll have to see how busy the holidays get.
Frozen Crevasse
I want to make a crevasse in a frozen/ice landscape. The majority of the map will be the different levels of the Crevasse, with caves on both sides. There will be ice bridges, ‘bridging’ the crevasse in places. Most likely something lives in the crevasse.
The Great Raft (Logging Raft)
This is a very historically inspired map. It’s a raft made up of hundreds of logs that Lumberjacks would use to transport logs down a river. This will be a river map almost entirely filled with floating logs. I have a Lumber Mill that would work as an excellent companion location.
These map ideas are on the short list for the next couple of months. You’ll see them soon, but other map ideas may jump in ahead of them.
Forest of Webs
A Patron suggested a forest full of spider webs, and I thought it would look great. So I’ll make a forest map with a central location that's covered in webs and some kind of giant nest.
Shattered Dimensional Lair
I want to make more lairs, and I think a beholder's lair would be cool. I have an idea for an area with rips in reality, with stars/space showing through. Some places are warped and look strange. It's still early in the ideas stage, but I like the concept.
Thanks as always for your Patronage. I hope your holiday season is going well. I know how stressful it can be. I’ll be working through December, so please continue sending in your map ideas. Have a great week, and as always, happy adventuring! Now, let's be careful while navigating through this area. No wrong steps, or you’ll be up to your waist in mud, and you do not want to see how big the leeches get here!

The mire buzzes with a million midges. Clouds of tiny insects swarm above the muddy green waters, adding to the mist that lingers on its surface. Around the edges of the fetid pools, mosses and coarse grasses grow yellowed and scraggily. Dead wood floats in the shallows, stained a deep red brown to match the water’s tea-like appearance. Solid ground is but a concept here. Certain paths are passable, but even on those, your feet sink into the sodden, spongy ground.
30x30 Grid Map
Mires, Bogs, Swamps, and Fens are all waterlogged regions, but they differ in their characteristics depending on how they form. Mires and bogs tend to have fewer trees than swamps and are often associated with peat (bogs) and moorland. Fens tend to be fed by groundwater, rather than rain, and are often found near the coast. Swamps are characterised by dense vegetation and tree cover.
Midges are the bane of mires and bogs. They bite and are difficult to avoid. Wind, strong sunlight, smoke/fire and higher ground can deter them. Use a survival check when giving this knowledge to players. Rests in this region without a good fire, or some of this knowledge will be unpleasant.
Remember, everything is wet! Fires will be hard to make.
Mires and bogs have very wet, unstable ground; in places, it can act like classic movie quicksand. It's easy to get stuck in a mire, or even be sucked under the surface if it's particularly deep.
The water of a mire or bog is very murky, often stained red or brown. This means creatures can easily hide under the surface.
Bogwillies are Legally Distinct: These are very unique, toad-like humanoids. They attack the party with weapons they cover in their own slime. The slime has a hallucinatory effect, making the Bogwillies seem more formidable than they really are. Their tongues have a barb on the end that can hook into a victim and drag a target towards them. Their rough, warty skin is very tough, and if struck, the warts can burst, spraying the attacker with highly concentrated hallucinatory slime.
Snakes in a Mire: Snakes or other swarms of creatures like leeches or insects could (and really should) attack the party at least once. Giant Midges?
Tea with Tadpoles: Another Bogwilly-themed adventure, this time your party meet a strange toad person at the edge of the mire. They beg for the party's help to fend off a group of poachers that are harvesting Bogwilly spawn for a new trendy iced tea drink popular in the capital city. Is the party aware of this drink? Have they seen it being sold in the city?
Day/Night variants for all the maps

I make a mangrove-style variant for your tropical campaigns.

A dark forest location for when dark and dank really needs to be DANK!

A frozen wilderness variant with icy ponds. Ice fishing, anyone?

And a woodland variant, because you can never have enough woodland maps.
