Hello Adventurers! I put in some late nights to get this to you for the end of the month. It's an underground Shrine slowly collapsing into a lava pool. Perfect for a sacrifice to a Red Dragon or Volcano gods :)
Our next map will be a Cactus Forest, with the Slithering Tunnel coming later in the month.
Cactus Forest (The Spikiest Forest)
I have a bunch of desert variant maps available, and I think it's time I expanded my desert themes a little. So, I will draw a few different giant cacti to create a spiky and unique forest location.
Slithering Tunnel
I’m thinking of a steeply descending tunnel with slick and slimy footing. Along the tunnel walls are little nooks and holes where snakes and creepy crawlies live. It's a climb down into some deep place, and if the tunnel is this bad, the destination must be truly horrifying!
With all the uncertainty in the world at the moment, I’m blessed to be able to do what I do, helping you tell fantastical stories with your friends. I can’t express how thankful I am for your support. As always I’ll ask for your ideas for new maps, just post them here or direct them to me through private message.
And now, let's go pray at this shrine. Just don’t stand in one spot too long or your boots will melt.
The files, thumbnails, and tags can be accessed on the Map List Page. You must be logged in to Patreon and signed up for the correct tier to access them. Remember, you are only charged for map releases; you can download all the old maps at no extra cost!

The walls of the passage are warm to the touch, while the smoke-filled air reeks of sulfur. Periodically, you hear a rumble, and the ground shakes, bouncing pebbles across the stone floor's surface. Ahead, a dull red glow lights the passage, slowly becoming brighter as you walk forward.
The tunnel opens into a large cavern full of smoke and fire. A pool of lava bubbles angrily away, flinging liquid rock high into the air. A small stone shrine sits at the pool's edge, ready to collapse into the lava. Much of the structure has already been lost to the pool, bricks and tiles hang precariously over the edge, ready to be consumed. Right at the brink is an altar, its surface stained dark, while an obsidian dagger rests at its center.
30x30 grid map
Walking into the cavern, your party could notice that many of the rocks along the walls are home to roosting monsters. Fire Drakes or some other thematic creature.
Lava is exceptionally deadly. Make sure the players know this (they should know this, but you’d be surprised). If they fall from the shrine, give them every chance to grab onto a stone on the way down. The drama of a party member hanging over lava is preferable to a dip in liquid rock and the almost certain resulting death.
Have stones shift and slide towards the lava during combat. Fast movements will trigger these events.
Eruptions of lava will spray lava droplets across the combat area. It won't be fun for anyone hit by them.
Earthquakes can throw players or enemies off their feet or shift the ground beneath them.
Gases could make breathing hard, and smoke could obscure the view.
Red Dragon Spa: How does a Red Dragon relax? Maybe they will soak in a pool of lava. The players may need to find a Red Dragon scale, and this is the only way. Whatever the reason for disturbing a Red Dragon’s spa day, the combination of lava and dragon breath is exceptionally unpleasant.
Kobalds Vs the Volcano: The Kobalds of this region worship the god of the volcano and sacrifice victims to it by throwing them into the lava pool. The players are tasked to save their latest victim. Could there be a red dragon involved? Sure, why not :)
Two Cults, One Volcano: The volcano will erupt if it is not quieted with a special ritual. The party must protect the priestess of the volcano cult while she performs this ritual. However, a rival cult would much rather be consumed by the eruption and will try to stop the ritual at any cost.
Sometimes you need a quiet place to pray, even at the beach. Tropical/Beach.
How about a windswept, stormy location, perfect for a sacrifice to a god of the deep?
Or you could go for a magical storm, with some crazy, spectacular lightning!
And let's not forget a frozen shrine for an Ice Giant's ritual.
And finally, I've created a simple desert location without the shrine.
