Kebech, once Pharaoh of all Egypt, has awoken in a strange and disorienting time and place- trying to return to Egypt, he must first navigate in a body that seems a fair bit chunkier than he remembers. I'm sure that won't be a growing problem for him. Enjoy!

Kebech awoke, his eyes blinking into the dark. He had been resting in the Field of Reeds in sublime serenity, but then he was suddenly plunged into the land of the living. But why? He was staring up at the darkness of his sarcophagus, and then he felt a sinking feeling in his very soul as he realized that someone was opening his sarcophagus. He felt power flow back into his withered, mummified body, his eyes aglow with the righteous anger and power of his Ba and Ka flow back into him. The heavy stone tomb was lifted, the seal of his eternal rest broken, and he stared into the blinding light of the sun.
Only it was no sun; there was no life-giving force from it, no sign of Ra's divine presence in this light. As his eyes adjusted, he found himself in a stark white room, metal instruments strewn about on slabs. He beheld before him a peasant— some chubby oaf in a white robe— and sneered imperiously down upon him.
"Who are you that dares disturb the slumber of Kebech, the mighty Jackal, Son of Ra, the Morning and Evening Star, Pharaoh of all Egypt?" Kebech demanded, slowly regaining the power over movement of his body as he lurched out of his tomb. The chubby, white-clad oaf— an overfed cat— let out a scream of terror. The mummified jackal rolled his eyes.
"Stop— Stop that! Stop it, stop screaming, peasant!"
The cat, still wailing, ducked behind a slab, and threw the nearest instrument at Kebech, a scalpel lodging itself in his eye socket. "Argh! You dare?! I am Kebech, I am Pharaoh, and I command you to stop— Oh, for the love of Amun—"
Kebech stumbled over to the cowering cat, clamping his bony hand on top of the cat's head. For a moment, the cat writhed in his grip, and then fell limp. The jackal held up his hand, the divine essence that resides in all mortals, the cat's Ka, dancing in his fingertips. "Hmph. No matter— it is quiet now, and I will put this to better use than you would." He said, glaring down at the prone cat. He held the Ka above his head like he was about to eat a fig, and dropped it into his hungry maw.
Instantly, Kebech felt the transfer of power— the cat withered in dust, and he regained a vital and almost youthful look. His body filled out— perhaps too much. Kebech frowned as one hand ran over an overfull, round belly that protruded from the rest of him, and the cat's knowledge flowed into him— he was in some place called a laboratory. He was far from the sacred lands of Khemet— apparently called Egypt, now— and the cat didn't understand him because his language had been dead for over two thousand years. Kebech made a face— that would not do at all. He had to find a way back to Egypt in this strange new world, but then stopped— before all that, he had to try what this mortal knew as a cheeseburger— it flashed in his mind over and over again, and in Kebech's defense, it had been a very long time since he had eaten a proper meal.
