Hajime seems to be spending a bit too much time on his bulking routine, and his cousins aren't exactly helping... Enjoy!
**************
Hajime was trying to maintain his stoic demeanor, but the tanuki was now imminently aware that something was wrong. He had expected a bit of extra weight during his bulking routine; that was the point, after all. But every time for years past he had done a bulking routine, the extra weight had been manageable; his well-sculpted abs would be temporarily buried, like a grassy hill covered in midwinter snow, and then leap back to life once the extra weight melted away.
Apparently, the winter was lingering this time around. Perhaps he shouldn't have taken advice from his multitude of chubby cousins, but even he had his weaknesses; and tempura shrimp, moon cakes, and American-style burgers being among them. His shredded core had now ballooned into a boulder, a mass of increasingly pliable, furry pudge that continued to snowball out of control. Hajime could only continue with his training, which admittedly, was not without benefit— carrying around such an enormous belly had strengthened his legs, overfed muscle filling out thick as kegs, while his arms exploded in size. His cousins were sure to remind him of it, especially as they loved hanging off the enormously thick burls of muscle whenever he curled his arms, biceps still leaping up and inflating larger than his head.
He kept quiet about his concerns over his weight, however; Hajime was starting to enjoy the relative quiet, as the usual teasing over his trim, fit physique had evaporated. In fact, if anything, this was the first time his clan had ever been fully supportive of his routines. He could enjoy that, for just a little while longer— especially if his cousins kept cooking his meals for him like they had.
"Hey, Haji, give me five minutes and I'll cook up that beef ramen you like so much," one of his cousins said, nudging his hefty haunches. Hajime only exhaled once, and then lifted the smaller tanuki by his arm alone, letting him swing off of it— it was only one more bowl of ramen, in the grand scheme of things, what was really the harm?
