Macan's Mass- Part 3

Ashigara and the rest of the sumo stable were slowly realizing just how big a problem they had created in Macan. Ashigara especially thought the tiger would have quit Sumo wrestling by now- the sport was more regulated and far less bloody than the gladiator fights he had fought for so long. They had hoped that either they could catch him out on technicalities, or Macan would eventually grow bored of the disciplined life of a Sumo- but it seemed that, in some ways, more structure and discipline was exactly what Macan needed to become an even more effective fighter. He was transformed, now- gone was the monstrous gladiator, a wall of muscle and brawn, lined with sharp fangs and claws. Now, Macan was certainly still a wall- the sort made up of bulky, round, overstuffed sand bags that could hold back a flood.

The tiger's stripes were warped around an enormous churning cauldron of a belly, plush as a pillow, but immovable as a boulder. His impressive musculature was still holding up his steadily growing weight, but all of it was insulated by thick layers of fat- his barrel-like legs rolled off one another with each heavy stomp, his huge arms were swaddled in blubber, and his doughy chest shook with each movement. The only real benefit is that he had, finally, dropped all talk of eating other people- but at this point, if the other sumos tried to stop him from eating their rations as his "winnings," he had grown so big they wouldn't be able to stop him.

Ashigara had been thinking long and hard about how to deal with Macan- and he had a gamble in mind. If Macan was going to continue gorging himself after each win, why stop at the other sumo's rations? Let Macan really eat his fill- and accelerate his weight gain until it finally slowed him down. The tiger's appetite may not have a limit after all, but Ashigara was willing to bet his body might…
