(will not spoil you) but what is more important to me is that after that there is the Water 7 saga which is my most beloved One Piece saga and I am looking forward to it again through your reactions. This show's fillers are "fun time with the crew" and they always warm the heart especially since they are between sagas. As you already learned with Alabasta, every One Piece's main Saga's arc is a pure chaos and the final parts of them are all-out nonstop hurricanes and there is a little moment to take a breath. That is why these fillers are so enjoyable, because they gives you this moment of breathe and joy to spend with these characters. These inter-saga fillers are calm before the storm so enjoy it and we will enjoy with you as well!

Anyway, one piece has good filler and bad filler imo. So far, all the filler was good, but bad filler is there also, which i skipped. I guess i'll leave it at that, you form your own opinion of what's to come.

2025-10-01 19:38:33 +0000 UTCYeah i only like G8 and a few stand alone episodes (one of the best was Robin X Chopper when she joined), but all of them are miles above fillers from other shows. Honestly the last time i enjoyed any filler before One Piece, might have been in 89, when Saint Seiya was still airing, with the "Asgard Saga", which was a whole 26 episodes filler arc (and surprisingly much better than the mediocre canon arc that followed)

But I was just in high school then. now I've got some life experience, and have had to spend a few years taking care of a cantankerous elderly relative. I started laughing when Zenny started barking orders and micromanaging the strawhats. Reminded me of my grand uncle.

On my watchthrough I also watched all fillers (didnt even know they were filler at the time haha). I don't even remember these episodes at all, so curious to see what they were about!

I love this opening that you finally get to watch it’s very nostalgic & gives you a feeling of wonder that is a big part of One Piece for me. I love the last opening as well but I love the animation for this one even more than the last especially the ship going around the world with the Straw Hats running above it, the dynamic antics/abilities/skills/personalities of the crew & the shots of each Straw Hat that look like stylistic drawings like other openings you have watched. Yeah that big spoiler is wild but I agree with others that a lot of anime don’t care about spoilers because they expect you to have read the manga although it is a spectrum because some go stylistic & thematic with openings, some have less spoilers and some have more it depends. Also I love the music with how it goes from fun & hype then slows down gets serious for a 2nd & then is hopeful & happy again. The lyrics are great in a lot of openings & endings as well. And I love those outfits at the end of the opening they are awesome & cool. I love how a previous ending was focused on Vivi now that Robin has joined the crew we have a new ending focused on her. I love how this ending starts with a cozy Robin seemingly thinking deeply about stuff it makes you think. I love that as soon as she sees the meteor shower she decides to wake everyone up because she doesn’t want them to miss this beautiful sight it’s cute & wholesome. I love the song as well it’s got cozy nighttime vibes & feels heartwarming & emotion filled. I like how the ending fades but I always got the feeling the ending was meant to be longer but they didn’t have the runtime which is a little sad because it’s a beautiful song. I’m glad you enjoyed this opening & ending they are fantastic. Also I can’t wait for your Alabasta arc wrap up video it’s sure to be great. Awesome reaction & thoughts. Keep up the great work. :-) <3

2025-10-01 14:18:02 +0000 UTCAs mentioned before, the filler epsiodes of One Piece is a mixed bag of treats. Some are good, some are strange, some are funny, but if you compare the fillers of one piece against the filler of othere series (cough.. naruto... cough) the are quite ok done as far as the flow goes. They just don't add to the main red string which carrys through all the canon episodes and so don't foward the plot and growth of the characters in any form. All the canon episodes have more or less always an impact on one of the crew, on the crew itself or on the world. All in all you can at least watch the filler once, and they made the waiting for new canon material back in the days more endurable than some of the, well, creative pacing of later episodes.
