I get that its part of his character to use silly, descriptive nicknames. But it would have bee a cool nod to his genuine desire to be hokage and respect for the position hokage if he knew the names and used them. It would have been a cool contrast to the way he usually addresses people

Is very kind and wanted to end the cycle of hatred but is cold enough to surgically stab and kill enough that the stone considered him an existential threat. Getting close and carvings through thousands is very different to doing it with a bomb or long range jutsu. A loving parent and teacher yet failed to recognise obito and sealed the kyuubi into his own son. A prime young hokage candidate but died before he could do anything and left hiruzen to deal with what should have been minatos issues on top of his already long career of seeing 3 wars. But at the end of the day like naruto said to obito Minato is still the coolest guy. It took The ludicrous nature of the circumstances of madara being alive and obito falling on top of the guy to cut his rein short and despite the imperfections he genuinely *loved* and chose to sacrifice in a way that genuinely did pay off.

You need a sensory type, he's your guy, he can use teleport for offense or defense, he controls all elements with water being his strongest, he can keep up in Taijutsu vs Uchihas. He might just be the smartest shinobi on the battlefield right now. And he can get you an army with edo tensei.
