Even though i am super excited the goat webnovel finally has it's anime adaptation, I don't really like the chinese style of animation usually.fortunately it seems to match the story. And i just read that even with the high pace of early episodes they do have a short segments to explain the story in more details. That will help those that haven't read the novel.

He also seems to be originally from our era, based on the flashbacks of him hanging out with friends and sitting in front of a computer.

A kind youtube channel posted these clips with translation in English. 1st one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lbzAoPuVKZY 2nd one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bVYb2JRV8Z4 Also there is a class Old Neil give as extras to each eps that teaches you something about the world (like the basic knowledge of the pathways, layout of countries, important cities, churches, languages, so on so on) that is very helpful for new viewer to get a picture of the world, which sadly you don't get it in the Crunchyroll version. There are two clues to his existence and given the quality of subtitles (even to someone who didn't read novel it seemed rushed and potentially wrong for few reasons), I don't blame you for not getting it. Also as far as I understand it based on one comment, first few episodes REALLY compress the time. Clues: 1. Someone mentions in first episode (I forgot who - might have been Police) that Klein lives with his "siblings". 2. Just after he gets his down payment, he mentions that "Older Brother Benson" only gets 5-6 Pounds a week in his job. Also given the approximate time this is based on (not 1350's, more like 1850's), Pound was helluva lot of money. You could live on one Pound a Week. The biggest issue would be renting a house. For 3 persons to live in very cheap house and eat, it's probably slightly above 4 pounds a week. Given that Benson got 5-6, I assume some money went to pay for studies or other relevant, but technically not critical spending. With 8-9 pounds a week though, they can afford to rent the house.

2025-07-01 23:04:54 +0000 UTCAs an addendum to the post-credit scene, a large part of the novels it's focused early on, on money. How expensive everything is and how poor the family is. So a lot of his early focus is on getting work. In the novel he was very focused on graduating from the college and working at the school, but the supernatural events around the diary adds a lot of complications there with the Nighthawks showing up as an alternative that he ends up going with because they pay a good salary and because he wants into the supernatural world. You didn't really miss Benson, he was the main salary for the family and worked to put his siblings through school. He's only mentioned very quickly in passing when Klein gets his advance pay for the Nighthawks and mentions that it's X times Benson's salary. Also Welch and Naya are mentioned very briefly early on at the murder scene right after Klein wakes up. It's mentioned they were students of history at the college and classmates of Klein's (how they knew to go looking for Klein in episode 1).

Depending on the actual time frame and geography, it might be very hard to find anyone who could read Chinese symbols in Europe for example. In 1349, there would at best be few monks in Europe who were to China at all - and they still might be few countries over. If this is more Victorian, then you would have professors and or at least few people in most countries who could read Chinese. Probably not perfectly, but good enough. Numbers are easiest if you approach it from completely 0 knowledge perspective. Then again, if they only have like 3 pages that are partially written - that isn't enough information to decipher the meaning of the language.

2025-07-01 19:17:55 +0000 UTCyeah, in the beginning of this novel there is a lot of world building and a lot of readers find it to be the most boring part of the novel so I guess animation staff decide to speed through most of it and cutting stuff out to get to the interesting stories as fast as they can. Which cause the 1st eps to go on hyper speed and in my mind really make it more confusing than necessary, a lot of us long time readers get it but even to us the flow of the story is just way too fast, just imagine how difficult new people trying to watch it. Good news is that after this 2 eps, the rest of it is going to be much better pacing to enjoy according to the director of the animation.

2025-07-01 19:08:36 +0000 UTCOMG this is absolute CINEMA!! i always thought an adaptation of this story would for sure fall short but god damn this is an awesome start.. i have my nitpicks for sure.. like the characters all look so pretty which takes away from the serious nature of the story for me but damn it doesn't even compare with how I'm impressed with the production of the anime so far.. the the writing sound effects? Is an awesome touch.. I'm beyond impressed with chinese animes witnessing them for the first time.. i can't wait for more!!

Based on Klein's assumptions, Roselle Gustav is also a transmigrator from China like himself. Why does Klein know about the Myth of Creation? - Although he transmigrated in Klein's body, he still retains his memories from Earth and also the Original Klein's memories. And apparently, the Myth of Creation is common knowledge in that world. If current Klein has Original Klein's memories, why doesn't he know about Beyonders and all that mystisism? - Because beyonders and mysticism are not common knowledge. Original Klein was only a regular person. To sum it up: - Our MC remembers his past on earth, remembers all the old Klein's memories, doesn't remember what happened on June 27th regarding the murder mystery, and for some reason, when he currently does the luck enhancement ritual, he access the gray fog. ------------------ PATHWAYS AND SEQUENCES Subs are not fully translating the details on screen, when they were introducing every new character. In the first episode, there’s a bit about how the emperor who invented a lot of stuff could be a transmigrator, and those diaries in Niel’s office are from that guy. So it turns out that emperor wrote in Chinese, which is why Klein understands, which pretty much confirms (I’m an anime only so not 100% sure???) that emperor guy was also a transmigrator.

The animation and the story also make it hard to convert them into anime storyline. I do hope that the anime somehow could deliver atleast 60-70% of the novel. That would be more than enough for first season.

2025-07-01 16:58:06 +0000 UTC前2集看完了,原著粉感言 首先劇情來說 小說本身題材西幻克蘇魯，維多利亞時代，不是熟悉的東方奇幻，比較小眾的，所以作者是透過克萊恩視角，一點點細膩描繪這個世界日常，來構建世界觀，所有的設定也是隨著事件的展開來揭露，這樣讀者也會有代入感 而動畫在幹嘛？一兩集飛快走劇情，節奏處理得也不行，完全不知道張弛有度，設定嘩嘩砸下來，沒看過小說的觀眾只會一臉懵逼，毫無代入感，根本吸引不了新觀眾 其次畫面來說 畫風真的很土很土，一股過時感。另外可能為了詭異風畫面搞得暗，但畫面暗不代表人物和背景就可以沒有界限，兩者糊在一起，沒有層次，眼睛都看的難受。所謂的一些大場面炫技，技術不錯但毫無美感，起不到吸引人作用，視效完全不達預期……你們能看看神漫這家公司的特效嗎，雖然是3d動漫，中間也用了動態2d, 美術是真的🐮，它根本不是那種爽文，也不改依照爽文做法 首先應該加強美術和畫風，必須先靠畫風留住一部分人，日常不要刪減正常鋪墊，後續情節起來自然低開高走，有人安麗了，根本不用那麼多炫技的鏡頭！炫技鏡頭也是無效的，完全可以把炫技經費做前期的日常，現在簡直本末倒置……製作組就是急著堆大場面，世界觀和人物刻畫一點都沒有，後面高潮部分又哪來的感動？ BTW:Ngl,I'm a little disappointed.. I originally thought this novel wasn't suitable for adaptation into an animation. It's very difficult to accurately convey the complex plot, pace and character behaviors in the original work. Besides, I'm not satisfied with the Chinese dubbing either. It lacks emotional investment. I hope there will be Japanese or English dubbing in the future. This animation is currently rated low in Chinese-speaking regions, and has basically no popularity, with few people watching it.

2025-07-01 16:11:32 +0000 UTCSome things to keep in mind. The subs from Crunchyroll are not always on point and leave some things out. (Honestly i find them quite bad). The MC is a person from China who did a chinese luck ritual to have more success and finds himself in Kleins body. Since Klein shot through his head, his memories from Klein are fragmented, but he has more or less all the information from Kleins knowledge of the world (excluding the supernatural stuff which is not commenly known) and also all the memories of his life in China in our time ( thus he could imagine a lot of stuff which doesn't exist in this new world). The siblings (Klein, Melissa and Benson live in the poor area of Tingen in the beginning, but later (End of EP2) live in the Middle Class Area. Middle Class in the Victorian age was a lot better off than the normal folk and the writer of LoM took inspiration from that time. I checked that 1 pound (currency) in the victorian age equals around 1300 pound sterling in todays time, so yeah he got around 15000 pound worth todays currency as his first salary, which eplains the fancy house, which is rented by the way. Also the eyes he saw behind old neil are a representation of the mystery pryer which old neil has as his pathway. The translation "ritual" shound better have been "pathway". Potions an their ingrediaents are well kept secrets, which explains why the Evernight church only has 4 Paths Potions and only one of them for a complete Pathway (Sleepless). The first three episodes are very compressed since assumingly the first 3 episodes have to make an impact in China to evaluate if the Animation is good received or not. In the webnovel he did work as a normal Cleck for several days before becoming a beyonder, and also did train his seer abilities for some time before going on his first mission. In these chapters are also a lot of inner monologue as he familiars himself with this strange new world. There is more but I think I wrote quite a bit already, lol.

The animation has been stunning, and I've really liked our MC so far. Also, you saw what both Klein and Zhou looked like in episode 1 when he decided to call himself The Fool.

Literally, it means moving to a different world. Some common tropes referenced in Lord of Mysteries are: getting the memories and language skills of the world from the body you're in, having some sort of a cheat skill that makes you OP, and using knowledge of modern things to make tons of money and cool inventions. Also, the fact that Klein instantly realized he was transmigrated kind of implies he reads tons of online novels and is familiar with the common tropes. The tarot readings and other types of mysticism are often inspired by Western mysticism. For example, the most common Tarot divination is to ask about your past, present and future. Translation: the Crunchyroll translation had a few hiccups with the translation. Most of it is perfectly understandable, but the second sequence potion mentioned by the Hanged Man is usually translated as Spectator, not Audience, and there were a few other small things that might change as the translation is cleaned up. Aaaand as you can see, there's lots of fans who've read the books and are now really enjoying the fact that others get to react to this awesome world, and story, and show!

Also, mc is not a regular transmigrator nor is Emperor Roselle, they are just part of the accidental transmigrator into an unknown world. Tarots cards represents the 22 pathways to Godhood. each starts from sequence 9 to 8 to 7 and so one, smaller number means stronger ability
