2025-02-06 23:42:06 +0000 UTCI recomend going with "One pace", one piece have less than a 100 filler episodes which is crazy for a 1000+ episodes show, the problem is that they put the filler inside of every chapter, like having freze frames of characters just gasping, 3 second still images of the background.. shit like that. The "One pace" project cuts all of it and its more close to the manga. If toei animation did a good job the anime would be like have the chapters at this point. They only started to do a good job with the last three arcs or so

Also the filler content in episodes happen in the 600-800 episodes. The early episodes cover about 2-2.5 chapters per episodes. The manga has over 1100 chapters.

I've probably watched more one piece than anyone while still disliking the show wholeheartedly lmao. I liked one arc. And that was the battle at marineford.

2025-02-04 04:44:43 +0000 UTC4eps a week in lets say 48 weeks a year (could be more could be less!) are 192 episodes a year. That means till we reach currentg episode 1122 it will take 5 years an around 10 months. That is if we Flexie watches all 100 filler episodes if she skips them all we are looking at ~5years 4 months. That does not take into account the episodes that will release in those 5 years which are an additional ~240eps. Those would take another 15-16 months to complete in which there will be 50+ new episodes and so on. What I will mean by that with 4 episodes a week for 48 weeks a year (from 52) it would take over 7 years to be on par with anime release. Of course Flexie could and probably will reduce the timeframe down the line after finishing projects like Naruto. Time saves certainly could also be skipping of fillers and considering watching one pace at later arcs. But that is a discussion for another day. I for one am glad that Flexie decided to do One Piece <3

In One Piece's 1000th episode, they brought him in again to voice "Pirate A" so that he could be one of the few people who VA'd in Ep. 1 and 1000.

I live and breathe this series so I can gush on how great it is, but I understand that it's not for everyone so, despite being a purist myself, I wouldn't be offended if you decide to skip fillers or arcs, use one pace or drop the show entirely. There is A LOT of world building (like the manga just had its biggest lore dump ever just YESTERDAY) so I would recommend getting a notebook (preferably one that doesn't kill people) and taking notes on the lore and loose ends because things that happen even in this arc will come back around hundreds of episodes later.

2025-02-04 00:30:47 +0000 UTCYes, the One Piece art style is more "goofy" or "silly" than your Narutos or Bleaches, so people often say its "worse"... but the series itself also puts a lot more emphasis on comedy than it's counterparts. So it actually ends up working in its favor, I wasn't crazy about it myself at first, now I wouldn't have it any other way ;)

One Piece has pacing issues in the episodes between 600 and 800, so I think, but for you will watch more than one episode per week, I presume that you will not be bothered by this. Even if you do 4 episodes a week - this will take around 6 years to "finish". Like all very long Anime's (and this is the longest, I think) - there will probably be times when you will have enough of it. Nothing wrong with taking a break, watching something else and coming back to it when and if you're comfortable. I don't think even the biggest fans of OP will find a pleasure in watching you not be able to react to episode "fewhundred", because of burnout. Take care Flexie and most importantly stay healthy.

It's also very normal to feel burntout after many hunderds of episodes, even for a diehard one piece fan like me. So I wouldn't mind if you decided to take a long break after awhile. The One Piece journey tends to be a cycle of long breaks, then binging hunderds of episodes, and then a long break and so on and so forth. But take whatever pace you need.
