death note was the first anime (not including pokemon) i ever watched, and i LOVED it. it must have been about 7 years ago now. and ive never watched it since because i couldn't find a good (legit) version, now i see its on netflix and you are watching it, and just knew this would be the perfect time to rewatch it. i know im 5 months behind, but im excited to continue rewatching it with you and everyone here also, i may have not watched it in years, but ive revisited the ost many many times. its amazing

It's a show where details are important, as written by Charles, you should read the texts that come up in the middle of every episode to understand the whole thing better. Have a nice day.

2024-12-01 22:23:49 +0000 UTCi have watched many different anime over the years, bleach, naruto, aot, jujutsu kaisen etc. but death note is definetly the most thought provoking among them, it never really leaves you. light remind me of the trolley problem. most people would pull the lever to save 5 innocent people and condemn 1 innocent person. but if those 5 innocent was 5 murderers most would not pull the lever. the show tries to argue that the notebook corrupts the holder but there is no doubt that light by his actions is evil. what is profound is that he has good intentions, objectively you could argue that if he kills 1 million criminals worldwide throughout his lifespan that his actions could reduce all wars, murders, r4pes, assaults, robberies etc. to zero. obviously anyone would want this outcome without taking anyones life. i've never seen anyone hate this show it's just that good.

It came across as a sudden obsession not as a deliberate choice and way to BE KNOWN. interesting. WELL they certainly know someone is passing judgement now π

2024-11-30 18:18:55 +0000 UTCLight is very dedicated to the cause, he got obsessed :D fun fact the INTERPOL members' nameplates have the names of famous soccer players from a number of countries and the flags on the nameplates corresponded with their namesakes' country too :) you are right it would be smart to make it all less suspicious with the killings, though Light did say in the first episode he wants people to notice that bad guys are being punished :) now he is the famous Kira :) he already cracked the whole internet idea back in the early 2000s how clever :D people really are different when anonymous compared to public life :) wasnt very smart to kill that guy on TV though, L truly played him :P the battle for the ages is perfectly set up :) Ryuk is just having the best time :D

2024-11-30 18:12:17 +0000 UTCyou make a good point in the middle, but i think light has a god complex. he is killing criminals by heart attack on purpose so that the world knows it's done by someone and instilling fear among criminals so they eventually stop commiting crimes out of fear of him.

2024-11-30 17:06:47 +0000 UTCYes, it would be smarter to kill people slower or in ways that would be harder to detect, but Light said in the last episode, that heart attacks are the best thing about the death note - he doesn't want to kill people silently, he is narcissistic, he wants to be a god. It is a modus operandi mass murderers often have. Also knowing there is "Kira" makes people be afraid of getting killed, so it also serves as crime prevention, if he did it silently that would not have happened.
