2025-09-30 11:41:49 +0000 UTCThe manga is excellent and ongoing, volume 11 recently came out in English. Each episode is about 2 chapters, so season 1 is the first 5 volumes I believe. Season 2 has been announced but no date given, which is fine by me. Take your time, Madhouse! Whether to wait for season 2 or read ahead in the manga is a question that can only be answered in your own heart.

2024-11-04 19:56:11 +0000 UTCNot only in the clothing u can see at what era a scene plays, also the kind of lamps , architecture and simpler stuff like using a scroll to read or a book in the never "human era" times. The author rly has an eye for the details. Regarding the barrier, she was already interested in that fake grimoir about the barrier created by Flamme in the city of graf Granat's Domain, even if it was fake she might have gotten some insight to dismantle THIS barrier now from the fake though? Also read the discussion between Genau & Sense again, regarding the sentence about "the world" after breaking the barrier and then rewatch the reaction from Serie and what she says, for the extra portion goosebumbs ;) Timestamps: 17:32 & 18:21

2024-11-04 01:12:01 +0000 UTCRichter didn't wash up near Laufen and Denken, he was caught by Denken with his legs. If you look at the scene that shows the three of them you can see that Denken has Richter's body clamped between his legs. Just one of the many reasons why Denken is the absolute GOAT

2024-11-03 22:36:58 +0000 UTCI think Genau is drawing a false equivalency here. How does analyzing a barrier and breaking it become a metric for who is the greater mage? I think him being an officious first class human mage has given him middle manager syndrome and he's just not advanced enough to be able to "gauge the distance between two incredibly far away celestial objects" so to speak. We've seen the rainbow-y barrier a few times before. First was the flashback where Flamme puts a rainbow-y barrier over the little plant that had sprouted in the snow. This is presumably similar to the one she cast to protect Granat. The second time we saw that spell, albeit much smaller, was by Frieren, to protect Fern and Stark while they were under the sleeping spell. And now the third is during the first task. If the barrier was made weeks ago so that river beds ran dry and collected in the central lake, there must be a way to enter and leave the barrier. And since we know that the chain of mentorship goes Serie -> Flamme -> Frieren, it's not surprising Frieren can figure out how to "lockpick" the barrier.

2024-11-03 19:57:52 +0000 UTCSince Kanne can't do anything offensively without water, she's handling the defense so Lawine doesn't run out of mana from casting her ice spells and forming defensive barriers. It's another great example of how they're very in tune with each other's fighting styles.

2024-11-03 17:58:48 +0000 UTC"Serie" = "Sair-ee-ay". In the show when they say it, they pronounce the "S" almost like a "Z" same with the female test proctor's name "Sense." They say it "Zen-zay." The names in this show have odd pronunciations for sure. But I've heard some ppl talk about how a lot of the characters names have meanings that relate to the characters personality.
